The shelter had many tables and plenty of space under the roof 

that allowed for up to 50 people to come together and share

meals, conversations, a game of chess or of dominoes.

The map of Cuba always starts up a good conversation!

The boys, including Diosel, are deciding which activity to participate in.

For the day, it was either play dominoes, go down to the waters edge or

enjoy lots of food that was brought and shared by all!

Enjoying a good conversation was Nelson, his wife Caridad and

Nelsons brother, Panchono doubt, it dealt with something

related to Cuba!

According to Nelson, this was the first time he ever spent lounging in a

hamaca. From the looks of things , hes really enjoying this new

experience in the U.S.!

Ramon, his wife Zunen and their son Youdel had taken time out to pause

and enjoy this momentholding the flag of their birth and the flag of their

new home!

Orlando, Jr. and Orlando, Sr. are also enjoying a shared time together!

Following the example of her husband, Nelson, Caridad has also

discovered some of the benefits of a hamacafrom the looks of 

things, shes enjoying herself!

Peter brought his family---three generations!

He also shared in some great conversations with the refugees!

daughter is pulling her hairs out trying to understandAbuelas moves!

Juan Carlos, his wife and mother, Peter, his son and mother also had a

great time sharing great conversation and food!

Their support was greatly appreciated!

a late night shift and preparing for a return to work that evening!

the beauty that this state can offer,

How fortunate we are to have the

freedoms to travel, to enjoy a

weekend with family and to just relax

---without government officials

watching our every move!
