Pictorial shots of the controversial piece of vacant land that got the residents of Lorong Terasek Kanan

    really pissed off with:

    1. The landowner for not putting the land to its appropriate use i.e bungalow residential.2. The developer who created filth and noice pollution during the tenure of the development and

their uncaring attitude in the landscaping of the stretch of road shoulder along Lorong TerasekKanan.

    3. The ineffectiveness of Bangsar Baru Residents Association for not giving full support inprotesting the development.

    4. The DBKL administration then for allowing the development order to go through.

This picture was taken on 5 February 2004. Wooden fencing structures being put up along the

    perimeters of the land.

This picture was taken on 5/2/2004. Notice the existing trees on the piece of vacant residential land

designated for bungalow. This green lung gives a spacious atmosphere for the houses fronting Jalan Ara.

Quality of air is generally good as the trees provided not only a green environment but also ventilated

    the surroundings.

The trees giving a residential-look to the housing along Lorong Terasek Kanan.

Taken on 5/2/2004, this picture shows the opposite end of the vacant land facing Jalan Ara (already to

    be fenced up).

The presences of the trees gave the ambience of the residential atmosphere of the housings estates of

    Bangsar Baru fronting Lucky Gardens.

The large forage of trees which have been there for the last 30 years provided shade from the scorching

sun whilst blending in with the housings to give the area its residential look.

According to DBKL officers, some of the trees are infected and need to be chopped down. Surely this is a

poor excuse for allowing commercial development taking the residents for a ride and making them

insultingly stupid. If they are sincere in preserving the landscape and the green environment it is

puzzling that they have not look into treatments to protect the trees which have stood the test of time.

This is the portion fronting the intersection of Lorong Terasek Kanan and Jalan Terasek. There is an open

air badminton court used to be patronized by residents. The green lung ends here. (Picture taken on

This is a bend to the right heading to the junction of Jalan Terasek. Picture taken on 8/2/2004. The trees

give shade during the hot periods of the day with good landscape backdrop unlike now, the kitchens of

    eateries formed the backdrop.
