THE BENEFITS of an all-girl environment are endless. Every student leadership role must be filled by a young woman. Every classroom discussion is led by the minds and hearts of young women. All athletic and extracurricular honors are achieved by young women. Simply put, the young women of McAuley are at the center of everything we do.
By attending McAuley, YOU WILL BE EMBRACED by lifelong friends and will instantly be united in a one-of-a-kind sisterhood. You will have the confidence to be yourself, think for yourself, and become the person God intends for you to be. McAuley is place where differences are encouraged, respected, and appreciated. S
At McAuley, we’re committed to developing your whole self – mind, body and spirit.
We know that young women face many pressures – including the stress of schoolwork, college planning, part-time jobs, social issues, body image, and more. That’s why our students initiated the “FEARLESS INITIATIVE” – a kind of support group in which students come together to talk through their stresses to help manage them in healthy ways.
Under the guidance of our full-time school psychologist, the Fearless Initiative includes regular meetings with guest speakers and brings students together to support each other – representing sisterhood at its finest.
24 FAMILIESEVERY STUDENT IS PART OF A “FAMILY” that includes young women from all four grade levels. Families meet during designated times each day to promote unity and friendship among all members of the McAuley community. Each Family has its own unique Irish name to proudly represent the Irish roots of Catherine McAuley and the Sisters of Mercy. Throughout the year, family sisters have opportunities to get to know one another through special McAuley traditions, service projects and other social events. Through your Family, you will get to know and embrace our Core Values of Faith, Compassion, Service, Leadership and Excellence. Our Families are just one more way for you to be part of a SISTERHOOD of lifelong friends.

CENTERED IN THE CATHOLIC TRADITION, McAuley has a rich history and tradition of educating young women according to the Mercy-based principles of our foundress, Catherine McAuley. First and foremost, you’ll BE EMPOWERED to understand and appreciate your faith and to be guided by God in all that you do and say. Student retreats, daily prayer and reflection, theology courses, all-school Masses, service trips and projects, and sacraments such as Reconciliation, provide ample opportunities for you to DEEPEN YOUR FAITH and your relationship with God. We help you realize your God-given talents and empower you to change the world.
GUIDED BY FAITH & SERVICE
RETREATSNumerous faith-forming retreats are held each year for every grade level. You’ll not only deepen your faith in God, you’ll strengthen existing friendships and make new friends along the way.

ON A WINNING TEAM
McAULEY’S LEVEL OF EXCELLENCE EXTENDS FROM THE CLASSROOM TO THE
FIELD AND ON THE COURT. Our team of experienced coaches challenge our
student athletes mentally, physically, and emotionally to be the best that
they can be, both on and off the field. Students not only perfect their
athletic skills; they learn firsthand the value of hard work, confidence,
leadership, persistence and teamwork. They learn that “winning” isn’t
just about the final score.
ATHLETICS GIVE OUR STUDENTS A GREAT FOUNDATION for their futures, and
McAuley athletes have consistently received scholarships to Division I
and Division II colleges and universities. In recent years, our student
athletes have signed to play sports at competitive colleges and
universities such as University of Michigan, University of Kentucky,
Northern Kentucky University, Wheeling Jesuit University, Thomas More
College, Lehigh University, Wilmington College, the Mount St. Joseph
University, Ball State, Wright State University, and many more.

ON THE PATH TO COLLEGE Picture Yourself
Our academic curriculum is carefully tailored to your individual needs and abilities, and you will be thoughtfully placed within one of four academic levels. You’ll graduate with the credits, skills and knowledge needed for college and a life of continual learning.
COLLEGIATE-LIKE SCHEDULE – To help prepare you for college, our progressive class schedule is similar to what you will experience in college, with longer classes that do not necessarily meet every day. You register for eight classes, with six classes occurring each day.
TABLET PCs – You’ll have your own Tablet PC, an all-purpose device that provides you with innovative, educational programs, online textbooks, class discussions and study groups, and the ability to easily exchange information with teachers. You can also use it to easily organize notes, homework and projects.
AP/DUAL CREDIT – You may have the chance to get a head start in earning college credits while still in high school through our AP classes. Several are even Dual Credit courses, which allow you
to earn credit at McAuley and at some colleges. These classes not only prepare you for challenging collegiate material, but also provide financial savings when it comes time for college.
OPEN STUDY HALLS – To help prepare you for the “freedom” that comes with college life, most students may take advantage of Open Study Halls within the building. You may use this free time to collaborate with other students on projects in common areas, to engage in research in our Media Center, to study alone for an upcoming test, or simply to relax with friends during the downtime. This privilege helps you learn time-management and prioritization skills and further develops your sense of responsibility and accountability.
MEDIA CENTER – You can engage in quiet research and study time in our bright, spacious full-scale Media Center. Smaller collegiate-like gathering
spaces within the Media Center include comfortable furniture that allows for collaborative work in a more casual setting, which even includes a coffee bar.

WOMEN IN PROGRAM OUR ONE-OF-A-KIND WOMEN IN PROGRAM will introduce you to careers in medicine, law, engineering and technology through monthly seminars, discussions, hands-on activities and field trips, and volunteer opportunities. Women In students are awarded credit on their high school transcripts, giving them a “leg up” with competitive universities. Participants graduate with significant advantages in becoming leaders within these highly sought-after careers.
Incoming freshmen who meet the program’s academic criteria are invited to apply for Women In. (Students may also become eligible to apply for Women In at the end of their freshman year if they meet specific academic criteria at that point.) Participants must maintain a 90% average or higher in Honors or Advanced English, Math and Science courses, and must participate in the program’s monthly activities. At the end of freshman year, students select their area of study to focus on for their remaining three years: Medicine, Law, Engineering or Technology. Fast Facts
