Airline seating and special requests: We do not reserve specific seats with the airline. You may change your seat at the airport prior

to departure. Please let us know in writing any special dietary or travel requests you may need. Mileage program information can be

added at airport prior to departure.

Land only price: $ 0000000 Land only services start and end at the hotel and do not include airport transfers.

Single supplement: A few single rooms are available for an additional $ 650.00 per person and can not exceed 10% of the group. Prices

are based on two people per room . Should your roommate cancel you are subject to the single supplement charge .

Baggage: Each participant is allowed to check (1) suitcase weighing no more than 50 lbs., and one small carry-on bag on the plane.

Baggage fees are not included. Please check the specific airline baggage fees on their website.

Tour Cancellation Policy: From February 14 up to 60 days prior to departure a reservation fee of $ 500.00 is withheld. Within 60

days of departure all payments are non-refundable regardless of reason for cancellations. All cancellations must be in writing. Unused

portions of the trip are not refundable. We strongly urge you to purchase Trip Cancellation/Travel Insurance starting at $219.00 per

person.

Pricing: All prices are based on payment by cash or check. Pricing is based on rate of exchange of 1.35 USD to Euro and is subject to

change at time of final invoicing. Fuel surcharge and taxes subject to change at time of final invoicing. Prices are based on a minimum

October 13 DAY 1: DEPART San Diego to Italy

Depart for our flights to Italy.

October 14 DAY 2: ROME - WELCOME TO ITALY

We are met by our tour guide and transferred to St. Paul Out-

side the Walls for a visit. We then travel to the Irish Francis-

can College of Sant’ Isidoro for Mass. Settle into the hotel for

a Welcome Dinner including a choice of beverages and a well-

deserved night of rest. Overnight in Rome. (Special Dinner)

October 15 DAY 3: ROME – PAPAL AUDIENCE

This morning we are thrilled at the prospect of being blessed by

Pope Francis during the Papal Audience. We then embark on a

tour visiting the Papal basilicas of St. Mary Major, St. John

Lateran and the Holy Stairs. We visit the Coliseum and see the

major monuments of Rome including visit inside, Piazza Vene-

zia, Via Veneto, Aurelian Wall and more. Mass will be cele-

brated. Dinner and overnight in Rome. (B.D.)

October 16 DAY 4: CHRISTIAN ROME Following breakfast we tour the Vatican Museum including

Raphael Rooms and the Sistine Chapel, followed by a visit to

St. Peter’s Basilica. We depart for Mass at the Catacombs of

St. Calisto and explore the ancient Catacombs where the early

Christians prayed in hiding and buried their dead. Upon return

to Rome the walking tour takes us to the Trevi Fountain, the

Spanish Steps, the Pantheon and the magnificent Piazza Navo-

na, where the scheduled day ends. Dinner is on your own.

October 17 DAY 5: ROME-RIETI VALLEY-ASSISI Saint Francis loved the Rieti Valley which he made his

home along with Assisi and La Verna. Since then, this

splendid plain amidst the hills and mountains has been known

as the Sacred Valley. You visit medieval Rieti with its

palaces and churches and Greccio, known to the world as

the Franciscan Bethlehem. It was here, in the winter of 1223,

that St. Francis thought of commemorating the Birth of the

Infant Christ at the approach of the Feast of the Nativity, and

on Christmas Eve night, the world saw its first Crib with an

ox and an ass standing round a manger where the priest

celebrated the Mass. We celebrate Holy Mass here. Continue

to Fonte Colombo known as the Franciscan Sinai,

it was here in 1223 that St. Francis received the final Rule of

the Friars Minor from Christ. Overnight in Assisi. (B.D.)

October 18 DAY 6: ASSISI

In the morning we visit the holy sites of Assisi, including the

beautiful Church of St. Clare, which to this day houses her

incorrupt body, the Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels, the

Porziuncola Chapel, site of the thornless rose bush and the

Basilica of St. Francis where we celebrate Mass at the tomb of

the saint. Overnight in Assisi. (B.D.)

October 20 DAY 7: ASSISI

We begin the day with Mass at the Carceri Hermitage, a quiet

place of contemplation and isolation so loved by St Francis.

Later we visit the church and convent of San Damiano where

St Francis received his calling while in prayer. Here again we

have time to reflect before finishing the day at the place known

as the Oratory of St Francis or San Francesco Piccolo. Over-

night in Assisi. (B.D.)

October 19 DAY 8: FLORENCE

Early departure from Assisi for Mass and visit of La Verna,

where Francis received the stigmata, before departing through

Tuscany for the city considered by many to be the cultural

heart of Italy. You visit some of the important sites of Florence

including the Duomo, the Baptistery designed by Giotto, and

Santo Croce, the famous church where Dante, Michelangelo

and Leonardo Da Vinci are buried. See the beautiful statue of

“David” by Michelangelo at the Accademia . Dinner and over-

night at the hotel in Florence. (B.D.)

October 21 DAY 9: FLORENCE Day at leisure in Florence to enjoy this beautiful city. Perhaps

you may choose to visit the famed Uffizi Gallery or take an op-

tional tour to Pisa to see the Leaning Tower. Overnight in Flor-

ence with dinner on your own. (B.)

October 22 DAY 10: FLORENCE- SIENA-ROME Leave Florence for Siena, to celebrate Mass at the Cathedral

of St. Dominic, which houses the relics of St. Catherine as well

as magnificent works of art. In the afternoon following lunch

we continue to Rome airport where we have a good night’s rest

as tomorrow we fly home. Farewell dinner at the hotel with

beverages included. Overnight at Rome airport. (B. Special

October 23 DAY 11: RETURN TO SAN DIEGO Transfer to the airport for your flight back home. Lunch and a

snack will be served on the flight. Breakfast will be at the hotel
