DESCRIPTION

"Content Strategy on Pinterest" Course: Digital Strategies, Fall 2012 Instructors: Frank Marquardt (The Barbarian Group, Matthew Scott (West) Team: Carla Dotta, Olivia Tsau Crx, Maethus Chaivichitmalakul The Challenge: Following a presentation about Pinterest's background and development, as well as the opportunities it presents to brands as a platform to connect with audiences (I wrote a blog piece about it here), we were asked to come up with content that three specific brands could implement to boost Pinterest engagement. Two of the brands had yet to utilize the platform, but interestingly enough other users were pinning and tagging them. So the conversation was already there, the brands just had to jump in with relevant content. The third brand had a good start, but was lacking any real story or cohesiveness in their boards. Brand 1 Blue Bottle Coffee, artisanal coffee brand -boards based on how we experience coffee with each of our five senses -boards that illustrate the process behind creating the perfect cup of coffee -boards that show ways coffee is consumed in different cultures around the world Brand 2 Humphry Slocombe, ice cream shop with wacky flavors -boards that showcase unique/quirky ways to eat ice cream -boards that are focused on flavor, specifically pairing and ingredients Brand 3 American Giant, local men's clothing brand offering classic American fits -boards focused on fitness and exercise for men -boards centered around #classicamerican things, like baseball and a good burger -boards about tailgating, possibly turned into a contest for board submissions of the best tailgate parties -boards that give suggestions on accessories and ways to wear
