Pinwheel BlockCut 40 squares 4” x 4” from blue dotCut 40 squares 4” x 4” from off white solidCut rectangles 3½” x 6½” in the corresponding number from the following assorted prints: 8–blue main, 4–gray floral, 8–pink floral, 4–yellow floral 8–pink scallops, 4–yellow scallops, 8–blue calico, 4–pink calico 12–yellow calico, 4–green stripe, 4–pink stripe, 4–yellow stripe 4–blue dot, 4–green dotCut 160 squares 3½” x 3½” from off white solidCut squares 4¼” x 4¼” in the corresponding number from the following assorted prints: 2–blue main, 1–gray floral, 2–pink floral, 1–yellow floral 2–pink scallops, 1–yellow scallops, 2–blue calico, 1–pink calico 3–yellow calico, 1–green stripe, 1–pink stripe, 1–yellow stripe 1–blue dot, 1–green dot, 20–red dot Cut each square twice diagonally to make 4 small triangles per square.Cut 28 squares 37/8” x 37/8” from blue calico. QUILT ASSEMBLYRefer to quilt photo for placement of fabrics.

Pinwheel BlockThese instructions are to make 1 block. Refer to quilt photo for fabric placement as each block is a different combination of fabrics. Sew a small red dot triangle to a small assorted print triangle to create Unit A. Repeat to make 4 Unit A’s. Sew a Unit A to a large blue calico or off white solid triangle. Repeat to make 4 Unit B’s. Sew the Unit B’s together to create the Center Unit.

Draw a line from corner to corner on the wrong side of an off white solid 3½” square. Place the square in the corner of an assorted print 3½” x 6½” rectangle and sew on the line. Leave a ¼” seam allowance and trim excess. Press. Repeat on the other side of the rectangle. This will make 1 Flying Geese Unit. Repeat to make 4 Flying Geese Units.

Draw a line from corner to corner on the wrong side of an off white solid 4” square. Place the off white solid square on top of a blue dot 4” square. Sew ¼” on each side of the line. Cut on the lines to make 2 Half Square Triangles. Press. Square up the Half Square Triangles to 3½”. Repeat to make 4 Half Square Triangles.

Referring to quilt photo for placement of fabrics, sew together the Center Unit, 4 Flying Geese Units, and 4 Half Square Triangles to create the Pinwheel Block. Repeat to make 20 Pinwheel Blocks.

Sashing and Pinwheel BlockRefer to the quilt photo for block placement. Sew a Pinwheel Block to a green stripe 1½” x 12½” rectangle. Repeat to make a row with 4 Pinwheel Blocks and 3 sashing rectangles. Repeat to make 5 rows labeled A.

Posts and SashingRefer to the quilt photo for fabric placement. Sew a green stripe 1½” x 12½” rectangle to a red dot 1½” square. Repeat to make a row with 4 sashing rectangles and 3 posts. Repeat to make 4 rows labeled B.

Quilt Center AssemblyRefer to the quilt photo for row placement. Lay out rows A and B. Sew rows together to complete the center of the quilt.

BordersSeam allowances vary so measure through the center of the quilt before cutting border pieces. Sew side borders first.

Border 1Side borders should be 64½”. Top and bottom borders should be 55½”.

Border 2Side borders should be 68½”. Top and bottom borders should be 69½”.

Finish quilt by layering the quilt top, batting, and back. Bind with your favorite Riley Blake fabric from the Marguerite Collection. Have fun with your colors and enjoy the journey of making your quilt.
