• And where better to start than with Sadie’s Ladies

• Five girls cannot recite the Mass and are dragged off

• Ms Sadie appeals to Governor Don Lardo, but without success

• Which leaves only one alternative

• The Barracuda cannot refuse her sister

• Meanwhile the Inquisitors amuse themselves

• Execution day – Donna Quibab, the Governor’s Lady, heads up-country in protest

While in the Plaza de Castro the pyre awaits

• The Sisters of Mercy give the last rites

While Donna Quibab meets ‘the pirettes’

• The women will be thrown in one by one

• Donna Quibab’s coach arrives in the square

While in the fort every eye is on the square

• While beyond the eastern wall…..

• And they are not alone!

• Meanwhile Donna Quibab is held at pistol point

• The reserve squad moves to rescue her

• And is stopped dead

• With his fort and wife suddenly in enemy hands Don Lardo is impotent

• He must stand by as both his victims and his Inquisitors are hurried off into the fort

• Then negotiate with his enemy for his wife while his bonfire blazes and the watching crowd cheers

Back at the palace his gout has come back and he is forced to ponder how to explain losing an Inquisition - without looking careless

While out to sea - the Grand Master contemplates the unfairness of it all
