  • 1. Peak Torque Mp (Nm) This figure represents the maximum torque that can be obtained from the motor. If a higher peak torque figure is required you will need to look at a higher winding number (WN), increased amperage or use a larger motor.2. Peak Torque at Maximum Speed (Nm)This figure is the maximum torque that can be achieve at the maximum speed (6), to increase this figure, you will need to look at a larger motor or more amperage. 3. Rated Torque Mn (Nm)Rated torque is the maximum continuous torque that can be produced by the motor at the rated speed (5). 4. Continuous Torque at Maximum Speed (Nm)This figure is the maximum torque that can be achieve at the maximum speed (6) continuously by the motor. To get this figure closer to the peak torque at maximum speed (2) you will need to change the coolant flow rate and/or inlet temperature of the coolant. 5. Rated Speed (RPM)This is the knee point for the peak torque, this means that after this point the motor will require field weakening to increase speed. To increase this point, you will need to look at a higher voltage. 6. Maximum Speed (RPM)The maximum speed of the motor is either set due to mechanical limitations or power limitations. If the motor has a peak torque at maximum speed (2) value of less than 10Nm the motor is power limited meaning the speed can be increased by using a higher voltage or higher current. If the peak torque at maximum speed (2) is greater than 10Nm the motor is mechanical limited meaning to increase the maximum speed (6) you will need to look at one of our other frame sizes. 7. Peak Power Pp (kW)This figure is the maximum power that can be obtained by the motor. To get a higher peak power (7) you will need to look at one of our lower winding numbers (WN), increase amperage or select a larger motor.8. Peak Power at Maximum Speed (kW)This figure is the maximum power that can be achieve at the maximum speed (6), to increase this figure, you will need to look at a larger motor or more amperage.9. Rated Power Pn (kW)Rated power is the maximum continuous power that can be produced by the motor at the rated speed (5).10. Continuous Power at Maximum Speed (kW)This figure is the maximum power that can be achieve at the maximum speed (6) continuously by the motor. To get this figure closer to the peak power at maximum speed (8) you will need to change the coolant flow rate and/or inlet temperature of the coolant.11. Active Nm/kgThis figure is a result of the peak torque (1) divided by the active component weight. The active component weight is a sum of the motor’s stator rotor and windings.12. Active kW/kgThis figure is a result of the peak power (7) divided by the active component weight. The active component weight is a sum of the motor’s stator rotor and windings.13. Motor Nm/kgThis figure is a result of the peak torque (1) divided by the total weight of the motor.14. Motor kW/kgThis figure is a result of the peak power (7) divided by the total weight of the motor.15. CPSRConstant Power Speed Ratio is defined as the speed range in the constant power region divided by the speed range of the constant torque region.16. A/mm2This value is the RMS current divided by the sum of cross-sectional area of the windings in a slot

    (1) Rated Torque Mn (Nm)Rated torque is the maximum continuous torque that can be produced by the motor at the knee point.(2) Rated Torque Speed (RPM)Rated torque speed is the knee point of the continuous torque graph.(3) Rated Power Pn (kW)Rated power is the maximum continuous power that can be produced by the motor.(4) Rated Power Speed (RPM)Rated power speed is the speed at which the maximum continuous power occurs.(5) Rated Current (ARMS)Represents the maximum continuous current rating for the motor per phase RMS.(6) Peak Torque Mp (Nm) This figure represents the maximum torque that can be obtained from the motor. If a higher peak torque figure is required you will need to look at a higher winding number (WN), increased amperage or use a larger motor.(7) Peak Power Pp (kW)This figure is the maximum power that can be obtained by the motor. To get a higher peak power you will need to look at one of our lower winding numbers (WN), increase amperage or select a larger motor.(8) Drive Current Ip (ARMS)Represents the current per phase RMS at which the simulation was run. (9) Maximum Speed (RPM)The maximum speed of the motor is either set due to mechanical limitations or power limitations. If the motor has a peak torque at maximum speed (10) value of less than 10Nm the motor is power limited meaning the speed can be increased by using a higher voltage or higher current depending on situation. If the peak torque at maximum speed (10) is greater than 10Nm the motor is mechanical limited meaning to increase the maximum speed you will need to look at one of our other frame sizes.(10) Peak Torque at Maximum Speed (Nm)This figure is the maximum torque that can be achieved at the maximum speed (9).(11) Peak Power at Maximum Speed (kW)This figure is the maximum power that can be achieved at the maximum speed (9).(12) Continuous Torque at Maximum Speed (Nm)This figure is the maximum torque that can be achieved continuously at maximum speed (9) by the motor. To get this figure closer to the peak torque at maximum speed (10) you will need to change the coolant strategy.(13) Continuous Power at Maximum Speed (kW)This figure is the maximum power that can be achieved continuously at maximum speed (9) by the motor. To get this figure closer to the peak power at maximum speed (11) you will need to change the coolant strategy.(14) Active Nm/kgThis figure is a result of the peak torque (6) divided by the active component weight. The active component weight is a sum of the motor’s stator, rotor and windings.(15) Active kW/kgThis figure is a result of the peak power (7) divided by the active component weight. The active component weight is a sum of the motor’s stator, rotor and windings.(16) Motor Nm/kgThis figure is a result of the peak torque (6) divided by the total weight of the motor.(17) Motor kW/kgThis figure is a result of the peak power (7) divided by the total weight of the motor.(18) Peak Knee PointThis point is the speed at which field weakening is required for maximum torque.
