My Magazine

My Magazine is aimed towards a 17-30 year old audience and therefore has to pick stars and musicians that appeal to that age group, which will be the most talked about stars at the time which will appear on the covers and attract that age groups attention (Stars such as Lady Gaga, Rihanna etc.). The articles within the magazine will tend to be quite simple but with an attention grabbing colour scheme and the pages of the magazine will be most dominated by pictures over the amount of text to follow the response of my survey in which most people like articles made up of ‘mostly pictures’ and secondly being just ‘pictures’.

The magazine will tend to have an interview with the cover star asking questions in which the magazine believes the audience would most like to know the answer to and therefore it makes the audience want to read it, but there wont be a huge amount of text and but the amount of writing will tend to be weighed out with the image and the amount of text. and also the magazine will have the few odd behind the scenes features in which they use a collage of images as they follow a star; It will also have a section with the magazines reviews on the new releases with music, film and television in order to promote the new releases, but to an audience which is suitable with the genre of the music throughout. The magazine will have a distinctive colour scheme which will run throughout the magazine, and will use a mixture of photography using both studio and live images. The double page feature will be an interview with the cover star; which will have a large amount of images dominated by a studio image and a few dotted about live images to back the questions asked.

I have used a striking colour scheme to reflect different audiences with the large colour range in the letters of the title and also the pale blue and the red are the most universal colour scheme with a large variety of pop artists and the black and white studio image with the use of colours makes the image stand out of the cover and the bright red letters overlaying the image make us aware of who the cover star is. The cover is quite simple following the layout of magazines such as Smash Hits and Billboard. And the extra text around the image are there to show the audience a few other articles within the magazine.
