Salsa is a vibrant style of Latin American music with its roots in Cuba and America. It is created for dance and the word Salsa is often used to refer to a range of dances with roots all over the carribean, including the Salsa, Mambo, Merengue and Cha Cha Cha.
The music uses a range of latin percussion with rhythms influenced by African patterns, fused with pitched instruments like Brass and Saxophones often found in Jazz.
You often hear these influences in Pop Songs today.
