Our Pitch

Title of the film:

IVY- This is our favourite option. We think the short, simplicity of it will make it memorable and dramatic. It also has lots of connotations such as danger and forests. I also think its quite a mysterious name as its to do with a plant found in forests (which will fit with the settings in our film)Holly- plant themed. However we don’t think its dramatic enough.Rose- again plant themed, however not very original.

Distribution/ production company name

• TreeWood Productions • Black mask entertainment- quite mysterious

and dark, which fits with the crime genre.

Genre

Crime/thriller

Film influences

• Prisoners(narrative influence- missing girl)• Gone girl (narrative plus use of juxtaposing music to

the images)• Girl with the dragon tattoo (suspense building

techniques, recurremt image of the road getting closer) (flashes of fast paced images, create suspense) Taken

• Walking through the tombstones• vantage point• Seven

Marketing influences

• Hashtags and tweets ‘where’s ivy?’ • Facebook page, countdowns to release et• Gone girl’s marketing campaign (use of

www.findamazingamy.com) . Makes the case seem realistic, making it go viral.

USP

Looks at the storyline from different characters points of view.

Target audience

Adults aged 16-30. Both men and womanOlder audience due to dark storyline ( stalking and kidnapping). This genre more appeals to this audience.

Teaser ideas• The storyline is about a woman names Ivy, they gets stalked by someone her whole life, and

then gets kidnapped. We will see pictures and videos of her when she was younger at the start. We will see lots of fast paced paced images showing walls of information on her, polariods of her, paintings, camera flashes, views from her looking into her house etc.

• There will be a recurrent image that we keep returning to (like walking through the woods or a long spooky looking road).

• We will then start to see lots of clips of missing posters, scenes with blood (such as washing bloody hands in the sink) and other dark sinster scenes.

• We keep seeing extreme close up shots of the kidnapper, such as his feet, hands, eyes- not giving away who he his- just making him look scary (cutting quickly to hide his identity)

• Lighting= very dark and sinister• Music= we want fairly cheerful music, quite old fashioned though, that will contrast against the

sisnister images. Then nearer the end the sounds get more sinister and suspense building• Montage shots• Use shadows and sillouhettes, creating mystery (not giving away who this mysterious character

is) • Shows lines (such as barriers gates) symbolise being trapped in. • Titles= newspapers

Poster ideas

Poster idea

Our idea is to use a range of polariods collaged together to make a sinister image of our main character, ivy. The polaroids are linked to the idea of clues, which links to the crime genre. Putting the pieces together. It also ties in well with the trailer as we will see recurring images of polaroid pictures.

Magazine ideasWe like the idea of using little white lies as our magazine, as its very stylised, which is how we want ours to be. Our idea is to use a range of polariods that make up a pictrure of the main character (Ivy). This is the same as the poster, and imagery that’s used in the film, so there is a clear link.
