SHAZIER ON THE INSIDELB Ryan Shazier leads the Steelers’ defense with 17 com-

bined tackles in 2016, including 10 solo stops, along with two passes defensed, a tackle for a loss, one forced fumble and an interception. TIMMONS’ TIME IN 2016LB Lawrence Timmons ranks second on the Steelers’ de-

fense in 2016 with 15 total tackles through the fi rst two games of the season, and his 10 solo stops are tied for the team lead. Timmons led the Steelers with eight stops in the fi rst game of the season on Monday Night Football at Washington, including four solo stops.

TIMMONS’ DIGITS

1-OF-4 Timmons became the fourth Steeler with 30 sacks and 10

interceptions in 2015, joining Joey Porter, Greg Lloyd and Mike Merriweather, since sacks became an offi cial statistic in 1982. He is also one of four active NFL players with 30 sacks and 10 interceptions (Julius Peppers, Karlos Dansby and Daryl Smith).

10Timmons recorded the 10th interception of his NFL career in Week 6 of 2015 vs. Arizona. He became the ninth Steelers

linebacker to record 10 interceptions since the 1970 AFL-NFL merger.

10Timmons totaled 10 total tackles (7 solo) in Week 17 in 2015. He has registered double digit tackles in 39 games during his career, including 26 times since the start of the 2012 season.

10THIn Week 8 of the 2013 season, Timmons forced a

fumble that was recovered by Pittsburgh at the Oakland 11-yard line early in the fourth quarter. It was the 10th

forced fumble of his career.

20 (17)His tackles (20) and solo tackles (17) in a victory over Baltimore in Week 7 in 2013 were both career highs.

86Timmons, who has missed only two games his entire career,

started his team-leading 86th consecutive regular-season game in Week 2 vs. Cincinnati.

96-AND-97Since the start of the 2010 season, Timmons has started (96) and played in (97) the most games out of any Steelers’ line-

backer, while also leading the group in tackles over that time.

100Timmons has eclipsed 100 total tackles fi ve times in his NFL career (2010, ‘12, ‘13, ‘14, ‘15) and has led the defense in

total tackles four times, including each of the previous three seasons (2010 ‘13 ‘14 and ‘15).

TIMMONS ON THE SACK CHARTLB Lawrence Timmons increased his 2015 sack total to 5.0 in

Week 17, after a 1.5 sack performance at Cleveland, increasing his career total to 33.0 quarterback sacks. Timmons’ 33.0 quarterback sacks are the ninth-most by a Steeler since sacks became an offi cial statistic in 1982:
