Maximum PIU and PMS are faulty, But we can convert them to ATS by using there MC. In a PIU we have 5 MC and in PMS at least 7 MC. An ATS needed only two MC. We also can take Genset running alarm from auxiliary.

In a site which contain a DG with GCS controller and a PIU/PMS automation requirements are as follow

1. VDTC—To make the DG voltage dependent2. ABC—To charge DG battery (if dynamo charger faulty), maximum PIU/PMS have ABC.3. AC Timer (3Pcs) –For ATS as shown in diagram.4. DC Timer (2Pcs)—One for remote stop. Another used for safety at remote start.5. DC Relay (2Pcs)—One for starting motor. It is used to make sure the starting motor will get 12v only

when we need to start the DG. And it also make sure that starting motor is getting full 12v. If it get less than 12v then it will crank and it is bad for its health. Another relay is used in fuel solenoid for same purpose.

6. AC Relay (2pcs)—It is an additional requirements. Some times required. 7. Control Cable—We can use (PCM cable) 40-76-4 core cable.

GCS409 controller have two auto port “Remote Start” & “Remote Stop”. Both works with (+12v).

DG will start with (+12V) in start point and will stop with (+12v) at stop point. But we cannot keep (+v) at stop point

continuously. We have to cut off immediately.

When CP will fail +12v will come to VDTC from Timer-1. When site battery voltage will be low VDTC will send +12v

to start point. And DG will start.

Timer-4 is a DC Timer. It works with DC voltage. Positive part of the DC voltage comes directly from DG battery. And -12v comes from Timer-2. This voltage available only when CP is available. Whenever CP comes Timer-4 turns on. And it will supply +12v to stop port until the delay time (10s) is

over.

Problem…?

MC’s in PMS can pass only two phase. All GCS controller Mahindra DG are single phase. To pass three phase CP we have to use two MC in CP part. Coil

connection can be looped directly from CP MC-1.
