NURSING EDUCATION INNOVATION CENTER
The Nursing Education Innovation Center was established to promote excellent nursing education. The center provides opportunities to improve clinical reasoning and competency by low and high fidelity simulation. Moreover, the center supports various innovative opportunities to enhance teaching and learning methods to achieve nursing students’ expected outcomes. Creative teaching-leaning modules are generated and applied to self-directed learning.
BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN NURSING (BSN)
The goals of our four-year undergraduate BSN program are on practicing Christian love, serving and respecting humans as holistic beings, and pursuing a state of well-being by restoring, maintaining, and promoting health. To achieve these goals, the College of Nursing is committed to developing professional nurses who are equipped with nursing knowledge and skills for therapeutic care in collaboration with other health professionals, and for taking on leadership roles. The program provides at least 126 credits and over 1000 clinical practicum hours and is accredited by the Korean Accreditation Board of Nursing Education. Moreover, we allow students to pursue a double major degree with another subject of their choice.
RN TO BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN NURSING (RN-BSN)
The first RN TO BSN Program in Korea was established at Yonsei University. This program is designed for RNs to earn a BSN degree with advanced nursing knowledge and skills, broader perspectives for clinical practice, and enhanced leadership skills. Classes for the program are held in the evening allowing participation of nurses who must work. Students are required to complete the BSN program in 2 years. Compared to the traditional BSN program, the emphasis of this program is on the use of self-directed learning methods including problem-solving to meet the complex care needs of patients across the settings and to provide evidence based nursing care.
MASTER OF SCIENCE IN NURSING (MSN)
Students who already have a bachelor's degree in nursing can pursue our MSN. The goal of the MSN program is to prepare students to become nurse researchers as well as to equip them with nursing knowledge in their chosen field of nursing. On completion, graduate students will be prepared to use their professional knowledge to initiate and participate in research and to provide evidence-based care to patients and families.
MASTER OF NURSING (MN) - ADVANCED PRACTICE NURSES (APN)
In the Graduate School of Nursing, students who want to be APNs can pursue our MN degree: The APN program with specialties in oncology, pediatrics, gerontology, and clinical nursing. Another specialty major, nursing management and education, is also offered to prepare students to be effective leaders as well as educators who coordinate care across the continuum of health care service. Eligible criteria are at least 3 years of clinical experience and a bachelor’s degree in nursing. After graduation, graduate students must pass the APN Board Exam to be qualified as APNs.
