In a world driven by technological upheaval, competitive pressures, changingcustomer preferences and mercurial regulatory environment, KIAMS hasmade attempts to metamorphose itself to the needs of industry. We haveadmitting bright students, hired qualified cum experienced faculty, developedan industry focused curriculum and function with guidance from industryprofessionals.

Students at KIAMS are from varied academic backgrounds includingengineering, business management, commerce, science and arts. They hailfrom 18 different states of the nation. This heterogeneity creates a meltingpot of culture, education, orientation and aspiration, which considerablyenhances learning. The faculty body consists of core faculty, adjunct faculty aswell as visiting faculty. A fine blend of industry background and academicexcellence is reflected in the profile of academics at KIAMS. Faculty membersare encouraged to present their research output in conferences held acrossthe world. Research output of these academics have been published byreputed publishers such as Springer, SAGE, World Scientific and Elsevier.

The Institute offers specialization in areas of Marketing, Finance, HumanResources, Operations and Business Analytics. Individual students aregroomed to develop distinctive competencies, which can be converted intocompetitive advantage in the companies employing them. Along with theusual academic sessions, we practice the mentor-protégé concept whereineach faculty member is assigned a cohort of students to groom through aprogram christened 'Student Enhancement Plan' (StEP). StEP enablesstudents to hone soft as well as technical skills and become industry-ready.

KIAMS has in place an Industry Coordination Committee (ICC) whichconsists of members drawn from different companies as well as academics.The ICC provides guidance on changes necessary to make the curriculumindustry oriented. Besides inviting practicing executives to share theirexperiences with students, it also ensures that regular events like seminars,workshops and panel discussions are held to keep students abreast of thelatest developments and practices in industry.

Kirloskar Institute of Advanced Management Studies (KIAMS) was set up in 1991by the Kirloskar Group in Harihar to put its illustrious leader Mr. ShantanuraoLaxmanrao Kirloskar’s thoughts to practice.A pioneer of Indian industry, Mr. S. L. Kirloskar was a visionary who possessed thedrive and determination to accomplish his vision.The emergence and subsequent success of the Kirloskar Group companies in theengineering industry in India marked the realisation of one of his visions. KIAMSdedicated itself to the task of Management Development in the Kirloskar Groupand other companies by understanding the need to promote managerial andorganisational excellence.In 1998, KIAMS ventured into training bright, young minds in high-qualitymanagement education to meet the managerial leadership needs of the country.This was offered as a two-year fully residential Post Graduate Diploma inManagement (PGDM) in Harihar. FINAL PLACEMENT PROCESS

Companies are requested to confirm their participation in the Final Placement Programme by sending theletter to the Placement Office.

Companies are requested to send a detailed job description for the position they wish to recruit for. Thisenables the students to make an informed choice and also ensures right candidate for right job.

Once the job requirements are received from the company, resumes of interested students will be sent to thecompanies. The company should send in shortlists at least a week before the day they are slotted to visit thecampus / placement camp for the recruitment process.

Commence from 10thOctober 2019 onwards.

It begins with a formal interaction between the student community and participating companies through Pre-Placement Talk (PPT). The objective of PPT is to provide the students with an opportunity to understand theorganization, the job profile and career prospects.

All the job offers an organisation would like to make should be channeled only through the PlacementOffice. No job offer should be made directly to any student. The first firm offer received by a student in thePlacement Programme will have to be accepted by the student and s/he will be withdrawn from thesubsequent placement process.

PLACEMENTS ARE HELD AT TWO CAMPUSES AT HARIHAR AND PUNE

BUSINESS IMMERSION (INTERNSHIP)

The BUSSINESS IMMERSION forms an important component of education at KIAMS. It is an attempt tobridge the gap between the academic institution and the corporate world. At KIAMS, Student internsundertake a 3 months Business Immersion in companies after Term III. The Program carries a weightage of 6credits. The Business Immersion, which would be a simulation of real work environment, requires the Studentinterns to undergo the rigor of professional environment, both in form and in substance. In the process, itprovides an opportunity for the Student interns to satisfy their inquisitiveness about the corporate world,provides exposure to technical skills, and helps them to acquire social skills by being in constant interactionwith the professionals of other organizations. It is compulsory for the student undergoing BusinessImmersion to successfully complete the course to be eligible for the diploma.

The Business Immersion (Internship) is for a period of 3 months’ duration between April 1 to June 30, 2020.
