On the agenda will be committee reports, election of officers, technical papers, and other items. Preceding and following the three-day meeting there will be meetings of the outgoing and incoming Governing Board. President R. T. Milner will preside at the former. Dr. Milner has named T. H. Hopper as general chairman of the New Orleans Local Committee. The chairmen of the sev- eral committees to arrange the various details for this meeting are : Mrs. H. P. Newton, Ladies' Entertainment K. S. Markley, Technical Program H. P. Newton, Hotel Reservations E. L. D'Aquin, Registration J. A. Kime, Publicity J. J. Ganucheau, Annual Dinner F. C. Magne, Golf E. A. Gastrock, Finances C. L. Hoffpauir, Printing Tentative plans contemplate having the annual din- ner on the evening of May 5 and arranging a special feature of entertainment for all on the evening of May 6. The traditional golf tournament will be held on the afternoon of May 5. Every effort will be made to provide an excellent program of entertainment for the ladies. Members who will bring their wives to the meeting are re- quested so to advise when requesting hotel reserva- tions so that Mrs. H. P. Newton and her committee may plan according to the number attending. Hotel reservations should be made through Col. H. P. Newton, chairman of Hotel Reservations, Southern Regional Research Laboratory, 2100 Robert E. Lee Boulevard, New Orleans 19, Louisiana. First and second choice hotels should be indicated since the Hotel Association of New Orleans has allotted 225 rooms in nine hotels to the Society meeting. The Technical Program Committee desires to select papers for the 39th annual meeting on the basis of their quality and timeliness of subject matter. All members who wish to appear on the program are reqpested to submit titles of proposed papers, authors, and authors' applications at the earliest possible date. Abstracts of all papers must be in the hands of the Technical Committee not later than March 1, 1948, in order to be included in the printed program. Titles may be submitted at any time between now and the deadline for receipt of abstracts. Correspondence re- garding presentation of papers should be addressed to Dr. K. S. Markley, Chairman, Technical Program Committee, Southern Regional Research Laboratory, 2100 Robert E. Lee Boulevard, New Orleans 19, Louisiana. John M. West, with FOSTER WHEELER CORPORATION since 1940, has been appointed director of public relations. L. N. Harrison, southeastern district manager of the Votator division, GIRDLER CORPORATION, has moved from Charlotte, N. C., to 505 Forsyth building, Atlanta, Ga. 24
