it started with an idea.

i planned to document the work & lives of a group of pilots. afterfinding the number for a nearby aeroclub - based at bristol airport - i was soon invited down to meet the guys behind the club.i grabbed my camera & began my venture.

this is what happened.

that’ll be my bus.

i arrived at bristol airport & soon realised the club was nowhere to be seen. eventually, i found an attendant who pointed me in thedirection of another bus stop. the bus pulled-up & i jumped on.

no information here.

second bus of the day.

being the only passenger on the bus, the driver kindly offered to drop me off outside the club. this saved me a long walk.

i was under the impression the club was going to be a lot closer to the airport. turns out it’s quite far away.

my journey has finally come to an end & the club is in sight.

is this really it?

this is not at all what i expected.

WHere is everyone? is it even open?

Guess i’ll take a seat.

after looking round the place, which did’nt take long, i went into the cafe to get a coffee. it seemed as though the man that served me was the only other person here & despite working in the cafe, did not know anything about the club.

“GET OFF THE BENCH please”.

i found myself outside watching the run-way. there weren’t many planes around, so i knew if one was to take-off i’d have to be quick off the mark.i needed a better view so i stood on the bench, but the man from the cafe appeared & told me to get down.

the only take-off of the day.
