When we started our preliminary trailer I had to direct one of the scenes in it, I did this by studying Hollyoaks, choosing a scenes I liked and by copying the conventions. Re-create that scene in my own way.

This was my original plan for lefthand bay; I would choose 3 idea’s from the list and develop then, I didn’t use the same characters or setting though.

As time goes on Hollyoaks matches the audiences needs and gratifications. Such as the twitter hype, using hash tags to create more interaction with the audience and wider recognition and brand identity.

I challenged the conventions of this title card by developing It to make my lefthand Bay one.

Q1

To make my opening title card. I researched Hollyoaks previous ones. I decided as the demographic is the same, the colours used and the style would help me develop my own. However I challenged this as I also had to make mine unique and represent both my brand and soap genre.

Institution-

Tagline-

Picture-

Represents the identity of the channel. Channel4 is connected to E4 and therefore they both show hollyoaks. However the identities are the same.

Short and grabs the audiences attention. Works as a teaser.

No matter of if Channel4 or E4 present a Hollyoaks poster the conventions remain the same and the characters are portrayed in the smae way.

I researched TV magazines in order to find ones which I thought

could get a feel of what my mag would look like.

• I liked the idea of my magazine having at tag at the top, so I researched the ones which did and picked a favourite.

I didn’t think the soap magazine I was creating suited the genre my soap was so I changed it to something more like this...
