New Graduation Requirements

O Foundation High School Program (FHSP)

O Students currently in high school may choose from old or new plans

O Students entering 9th grade in 2014-15 will graduate on new FHSP

Core Requirements of The New FHSP

O 4 English (Eng I, Eng II, Eng III, and an Advanced English)

O 3 Math (to include Alg I and Geom)O 3 Science (to include Bio)O 3 Social Studies (W. Geog or W. Hist, US

History, Gov’t, and Econ)O 1 PEO 1 Fine ArtO 2 credits of the same foreign languageO 5 electives

With few exceptions, ALL students will be required to earn an endorsement in one of the following areas:

1. STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math)

2. Business and Industry

3. Public Services

4. Arts and Humanities

5. Multidisciplinary Studies

The FHSP with Endorsements

The career cluster you choose in Bridges will fit under one or more of these endorsements.

We will not know the specific requirements for each endorsement until some time in the 2013-2014 school year.

The FHSP with Endorsement

Each endorsement requires 26 credits total, including:O4th mathO4th scienceO2 additional electives

FHSP + Distinguished Level of Achievement

To earn the distinguished level of achievement, students must complete:

• The FHSP

• An endorsement

• Algebra II

Students completing the distinguished level will be eligible for college admission under the Top 10% automatic admissions provision.
