Gardening of the 20’s
• The first considerations in the composition ofa garden or the grounds around one's placeare privacy, shelter, and unity of design.
• The garden should present a suitable,agreeable and comfortable composition.

Location of the House
• Where it is possible to choose the location of thehouse the best orientation is southeast or south. Inany case, as abundant sunshine is desirable, see to itthat the windows and living rooms face in thedirection of abundant light.
• The north Americans used to have garden in a specialroom because they had plants who grew in closedplaces.

The Lawn
• The lawn furnishes the setting for a house, and if it istrim, smooth, and of a healthy green, it will add thefinishing touch to an attractive home which no amountof planting can give. Wide-spreading slopes or levelterraces of turf are the outdoor delight of manyhomes, from the humblest cottages to the largestmansions.
• The Americans used to have Laws in their gardenbecause it doesn’t need care.

Small formal flower gardens
• In each of the plans a little interest has been addedby including small, formal flower or Rose gardens.

Vegetable and fruit garden
• They used to have vegetables in their garden because when they harvested , they sold it
• The most popular fruits were: Apples, Pears, Peaches, Plums,Cherries, strawberry, blackberry, raspberry and grapes.
