LEARINING ISSUES TRULY

CORRECTED WITHIN 2-3 YEARS!

How is this possible?

Mild or severe, the fact remains that man stu-dents have learning disabilities but a Cana-dian program called Arrowsmith, now inDavie FL at ACCESS SCHOOL, providesa suite of cognitive lab exercises developed

from research in the field of neuroscience and neuroplasticityto remedy the problem and free families from the stress of theseissues. With these exercises, students with learning difficultiesare finally able to target the root cause and correct the underly-ing issues. There is no need to be a hostage to homework, stressor learning difficulties. After a few years of this program stu-dents become entirely independent to finally experience a nor-mal school, social and family life. The remarkable aspect aboutthis program is that it is a permanent solution and does not useacademics to correct the brain but rather uses specific cognitivebrain exercises to reboot and redirect the brain to completelyremove its own barriers. With the program there is no need tocompensate around curriculum or water down material.

As long as students have an average or above average intelli-gence and showing no emotional or behavioral patterns, this25 year-old, program builds on recent advances in brain scienceto successfully treat a wide range of learning issues such as: At-tention, Non-verbal learning, Auditory processing, Fine motor,Mathematics, Social skills, Comprehension, Logical reasoning,Executive function, Visual memory, Auditory memory,Dyslexia, and Working Memory. This program works theweakest areas of the brain in order to remove learning disabili-ties. It does not allow the strong areas of the brain to be over-worked or to compensate due to an imbalance. In fact, manyclinicians and educators refer to this program as physiotherapyfor the brain, helping the brain to self-correct through rigorousretraining.

A typical day at the Access School and the Arrowsmith Pro-gram, means a student will complete 200 daily minutes of cog-nitive exercises, also called labs, and then continues withacademics. Some students also receive advanced academics, asthey do the labs, due to natural strengths. Either way, the pro-gram is customized to each student so that success is solidified

and time is not wasted. As part of this program, all students re-ceive comprehensive testing in order to formulate an individualplan to reach the particular brain function associated with eachlearning dysfunction. All students in this program transitionback to regular or advanced programming with amazing suc-cess.Not only can one read about this program in Chapter 2 of theNew York Times best selling book The Brain That Changes It-self by Dr. Norman Doidge, or the Brain School by HowardEaton, but you can also tour ACCESS SCHOOL in Davie, tosee this program in action.

“The discovery of my learning disability,” cites one graduate ofthe Arrowsmith program, “marked the beginning of mymother’s search for a solution to my problems. I was enrolledin a program where I played too much or crawled on the floor, another where the clinician hand me off to the assistants tocomplete expensive and ineffective programs, or handed meover to the interns who pushed more school work instead oftargeting my true issues. And then I began the Arrowsmith Pro-gram at the age of 12, being at a grade 4 level in reading and agrade 3 level in math. At the end of only two years, for the firsttime in my life, I was at my grade level. Arrowsmith strength-ened areas of my brain, which enabled me to participate in learn-ing. Before Arrowsmith I lacked the ability to grasp the conceptsessential to surviving the world today, socially and academically.”

For a child with learning disabilities, life can often feel like a baf-fling network of paths leading nowhere. Without proper inter-vention, a learning disabled child can remain behind the barsof these difficulties, leaving him or her frustrated, angry andoverwhelmed, falling precariously behind in academics and de-velops poor self-esteem, leading him to crippling social andemotional consequences. However, with the Arrowsmith Pro-gram, this does not need to occur at all.
