Plastering Plastering on joints (such as beam and brickwork or column and brickwork) should be done as:- 1. Take 200mm wide chicken mesh according to length of beam and brickwork. 2. Place the chicken mesh such that 100mm lies on beam and 100mm on brickwork (attach the chicken mesh through the nails on brickwork) 3. After that put the mortar over the chicken mesh to have smooth plaster on joints. 4. This is basically done to avoid the cracks in between the RCC and brickwork. For plastering over columns hacking is done over it so that the cement mortar gets easily attached to it. And for plastering over bricks we should follow as – 1. Generally the plastering thickness is 15mm facing & 10mm backing. 2. Now make bull points of required thickness on brick wall.

thickness all over the wall.Now to join a column and a wall column should be hacked

and a cement paste should be applied over the column facing so the brick should be easily attached to it.
