PPR: hot and cold water supply (pressure pipes)
- SABIC® Vestolen P 9421- SABIC® PP RA1E10
16
Benefits of PPR systems
Consumers•Proven quality•Environmental friendly•Corrosion resistance•Organoleptic neutral
Installers•Low weight of pipes and fittings•Easy, fast and safe connections by welding•Complete systems (e.g. large diameters available)
Produceres• Easy handling and processing on conventional machines
17
Hot & cold water supply – SABIC® Vestolen P 9421
Not every PPR is suited for hot & cold water pressure pipes.
Crucial factors to assure a long life time for a hot & cold water PPR pipe system:
- Additive amount and combination of different anti-oxidants
- Extraction resistance
- Optimal dispersion of additivesand colour pigments
18
Dispersion of colour pigments
Pre coloured Vestolen ® P 9421
Natural PPR + colour MB
Natural PP-R + colour master batch after a hydrostatic pressure test at 95 °C and 3.5 MPa. The crack started at a pigment agglomerate
Excellent pigment dispersion
Improper pigment dispersion
Pigment agglomerates
19
New: SABIC® Vestolen P 9421 natural
More flexibility in selecting colour of own choice
Very suited for extrusion of stabi-pipes
Same fine-tuned stabilisation package as for the coloured SABIC® Vestolen P 9421grades which have proved to be completely effective against thermo-oxidative degradation.
Meeting all requirements of the commonly used ISO EN 15874 and ISO 3213 standards.

Requirements for (structural wall) sewage pipes
– Good balance of stiffness
and flexibility
– Impact resistance at low
temperatures
– Chemical resistance
Both PE (SABIC® HDPE) and PP-B (SABIC®
PP 71EK71PS or SABIC® PP 83EK10) are
used in this type of applications
