MAKE THEIR DAY!

Objective: Provide customers with an opportunity to score a free drink or discount. This will create excitement amongst the team and customers!

You’ll Need:

1. 3 Boost Cups (ensure all three cups are the same size)2. A small ball e.g. Ping-Pong ball3. Free card / Call to Action card

The Steps:

1. Ask the customer if they would like to participate in a game to potentially win a free original-sized smoothie or Call to Action card.

2. If they say yes, take out three original-sized boost cups and the ping pong ball and place it under one of the cups.

3. Move the cups around really quickly to make it challenging for the customer to follow which cup has the ball underneath.

4. When you think you have shuffled the cups around enough, ask the customer to guess which cup is hiding the ball.

5. If they are correct, say “Congratulations” and offer them a free card / call to action card for next time.

THE 2 MAGIC STRAWSObjective: Engage, entertain & bedazzle customers. You’ll Need: 2 straws

The Steps:

1. First, hold a straw in each hand. The straw in the left hand is held horizontally, and the right hand straw is held vertically.

2. Form a cross with the straws such that the horizontal left hand straw is over the vertical right hand straw, holding both straws in place with the left hand:

to make

3. With your right hand fold the bottom of the vertical straw up over the hori-zontal straw and down again.

4. Still holding both straws in place with the left hand, fold the left of the hor-izontal straw right, around the vertical straw and then across so both ends of the horizontal straw are now together facing right, which you can now hold with your right hand:

5. Holding the straws in place with your right hand, clutch the top and bottom ends of the vertical straw together with your left hand such that you are now holding all ends of straws in both ends, like the handlebar of a bicycle. There should be a ridiculous knot looking thing in the middle (there isn’t a knot, really, it just looks like there is).

6. Put on a real show as you to try pull them apart. Hand it to the customer – it’s most effective with young children and high school girls – and ask them to see if they can do it for you.

7. Watch their face as it lights up with awe as they pull apart the straws, only to see them magically untangle and pass through each other.

HEADS UPObjective: The importance of this game is to engage with the customer, rather than focusing on the outcome of the bet itself!

You’ll Need:

3 Wheatgrass Shot Cups

3. Demonstrate how this is done for the customer:

1. The first move you take shots B and C, one in each hand, and turn them over at the same time so they stand as follows:

2. The second move you turn over shots A and C as follows:

PLAY!

Objective: These instructions will ensure you master the art of juggling. Customers will love it, your team mates will want to learn it and you will have so much fun mastering it!

You’ll Need:

1. Good hand eye coordination2. Oranges, lemons or whatever you can get your hands on! The Steps:One Orange Exercise

Start with one orange. Throw the Orange in an arc from hand to hand about eye level. The pattern will be an arc, not a circle

Two Orange Exercise

Start with one Orange in each hand. First toss the Orange in your right hand (1) in the arc to about eye level to your left hand. When this Orange (1) reaches the highest point in it’s arc

Throw Orange (2) in an arc from your left hand to your right. Catch (1) in your left hand, Then catch (2) in your right hand. Stop.

Common mistakes include throwing two Oranges in a circle, or throwing both Oranges at the same time.

JUGGLE, JUGGLE, JUGGLE!

Page 35: Play time recipe book

35

Juggling 3 OrangesStart with 2 Oranges in one hand (1&3) (in this case the right hand, but if you are a lefty, use your left hand) and one Orange (2) in the other. Start by throwing the Orange in the front of your right hand in an arc to your left hand.

When Orange (1) reaches its highest point, throw the Orange in your left hand (2) in an arc to your right hand. Catch (1) in your left hand. This is like the two Orange exercise. When the Orange thrown to your right hand reaches its height

Throw the Orange from your right hand (3) in an arc to your left hand. Catch (2) in your right hand. This move can be difficult. It is often helpful to roll the Orange (3) in your right hand to the front of your hand with a slight downward motion of the hand before you throw it.

When that Orange (3) reaches its highest point, throw the Orange in your left hand (1) in an arc to your right hand. Catch (3) in your left hand. And so on.

Problems and Solutions

• I move forward as I juggle. This is a common problem. Stand in front of a wall, or a bed to keep you from moving forward.• I can’t throw Orange number (3), I just catch Orange number (2). Concentrate on throwing Orange number (3). Do not even try to catch Orange (2).• The Oranges keep hitting/there isn’t time for to make the throws. Concentrate on making your throws an even height

BATTLE OF THE BOOSTIE BANDSObjective: Beat your fellow Boosties by being the most enthusiastic dancer / singer to yourfavorite tunes!

You’ll Need 1. Original cup (microphone)2. Original cups still in plastic (instrument, guitar, saxophone, etc.)3. Customers to judge the bands4. Crazy diva hair or anything that contributes to your rock star look The Steps:

1. Choose the Band! Decide which Boostie is in your band and which band you’re up against. If it’s a slow day and you have less team members it may be one Boostie versus another.

2. Select a song! This is very important!! There must be a strong bond between singer and song! You have to win the crowd with this song!

3. Select instruments and microphone! Get your instruments and microphone ready!

4. Ask customers to judge the competition

5. The first band steps up to the pour up stage and sings & dances their hearts out.

6. Once enough time has gone by for the customer to judge on dance moves, instrument usage, and enthusiasm, the next Boostie takes the stage.

7. Once all bands have performed the customer has to decide who is to win!

8. The winner can step away loving life, enthusiastic and confident that they have made a customer’s day.

Using the trick:

Once you have got the hang of how to throw the cup and catch it again you can use it as a flashy way of pouring up a customer’s drink:1. Grab a cup from the stack, flip it, and place it on the bench.

Once you have the wave down pat, try it with 3 other people in a line, it looks very cool!If you’re having trouble picking this up, use step 2, 4 & 6 for a basic wave. If you want to have the illusion of liquid boneless arms, try to perfect first 3 steps on a flat surface.

PLAY!

Objective: A simple, yet effective trick to entertain the customers while they wait for their Boost.

You’ll Need: 1. Jug2. Strawberry3. Fruit Scoop

The Steps:

1. Prepare a drink that requires strawberries e.g. Strawberry Squeeze or All-berry Bang

2. When it’s time to add the fruit, use the scoop to throw a single strawberry as high into the air as you can (as long as you can catch it) and then catch it in your jug when it comes back down.

3. Have some fun with it! Try competing with other Boosties to see who can throw it the highest. This may seem simple, but the customers seem to find it quite entertaining!

Objective: To scoop the exact amount of TD4 Frozen Yoghurt or Sorbet listed on the recipe tag into the jug (don’t pretend you don’t get excited whenever this happens!)

You’ll Need:

1. A blender jug (preferably with somebody’s order stuck to it!)2. Tubs of TD4 Frozen Yoghurt / Sorbet3. Yoghurt scoop4. Good set of digital scales5. Some accurate guessing skills!

The Steps:

1. Wait for an order containing Frozen Yoghurt or Sorbet in the recipe.2. When it’s time to scoop, make sure you set the scales to zero, and try to estimate good sized scoops that won’t exceed the amount you need.3. If you are the star Boostie who happens to achieve this almost unattainable goal, leave the jug on the scales and excitedly notify all your fellow Boosties in store.4. Continue to make the drink and then pass the jug onto Pour Up, get a photo of your proud self next to the scales.5. Work on building a “Worth-Your-Weight In TD4” gallery, a notice board or photo album comprising a collection of all the successful participants your store can boast about!

These people are the efficient, accurate and skillful non-wasters of the future!

Note:

Doing tiny little scoops that will eventually creep up to the exact required amount is cheating and will not be acknowledged as a win!

Page 75: Play time recipe book

75

The Big Three Hours:

1. Create a separate customer line, close to a blender and away from the register.

2. Place the tray next to you, along with the tally sheet, a pen and your container for donations.

4. When a costumer approaches ask them; “Hi, what flavour would you like?” (with a smile).

5. Give them their chosen drink, take the money and place it in the donation box.

6. If the drinks start to run out, re-stock with the extras you made in the freezer.

7. Once there are only 20 extras remaining, make another 40, make sure you make more of the flavor that is selling the fastest (e.g. if you sell 10 Strawberry Squeezes and only five Tropical Crushes, you know to make more Strawberry Squeezes).

8. Repeat steps four five and six until the three hours is up! (If you reach three hundred keep on going!).
