    Introduction

At Park View High School, we run a Multiple Set West Coast

Offense. Our objectives to attain our ultimate goal are; to utilize

several different formations, shifts and motions while running thesame base plays. Cause confusion in the defense, which will allow

us to dictate and control the game. Limit penalties and mental

errors. We will do this with intelligent preparation and study,

outstanding practice and superior game execution. We will

capitalize by utilizing both our superior versatile players as well as

those exceptional positional players to make positive things

happen. We will make every effort to win each play, series,

quarter, half and game. Together, as one offensive unit, we will

strive to achieve our ultimate goal State Champions!

    The Huddle

    FORMING AND BREAKING THE HUDDLE:

The Center will always set the huddle 7 yards from the ball. Set up quickly. (HUDDLE

    UP)

The huddle is oval in shape with the QB always to our side of the field and the LOS to his

    Left.

Line up quickly with hands on knees in position to see and hear the quarterback.

The Quarterback has COMPLETE CONTROL of the huddle.

You will receive the following information in the huddle.1. Formation (motion possible)

    2. Play

    3. Blocking (possible)

    4. Pass Pattern (possible)

    5. Snap Count

If you dont hear or need clarification call CHECK to the Quarterback and he will repeat

    the call.

Ready Break is the signal to leave the huddle clap hands and say, Break.

Lineman turn to the outside and JOG to the line of scrimmage setting up quickly with proper

splits.Wide outs will RUN to their proper position.

The huddle reflects the attitude of each man and the team.

    IN THE HUDDLE:

The Quarterback does all the talking. He will give this information:

    1. Formation (Split, I, Spread, etc.)

    2. Motions or Shifts (Zip, Zoom, Trade, etc.)

    3. Play Number (14, 21, 2 Jet, etc.)

    4. Play Terms (Counter, Z-in, Y Shallow Cross, etc.)5. Snap Count Twice (On Set Hut, On One, On Two)

    6. Ready-Break

    Here Is How It Sounds

    1. Strong Right, Sprint Right Option, on One on One Ready Break!

    2. I Right, 22 Dive on Set Hut, Set Hut Ready Break!

    3. Double Wing Right, 2 Jet Double Square Out on Two on Two!

The following are possible snap counts:

    1. Set Hut2. One

    3. Two

FREEZE is to make the defense jump offside. The QB will use several HARD counts. We

may either FREEZE with a timeout, with a delay, or with another play call.

AT THE LINE OF SCRIMMAGE (L.O.S)

    1. The QB will give a quick SET HUT. This is done to keep the defense guessing as towhen the ball will be snapped

    2. The QB pauses gives a color and number to each side, if the play calls for motion he will

nod or motion with his head to signify start motioning

    3. The QB will then start the snap count, if the count is on Two (2), he will give two quick

    counts HUT-HUT to follow

    4. If the count is on Three (3) the QB will try to draw the defense off sides with a HARD

first HUT, pause and two quick counts, HUT-HUT

    5. The team is on ALERT for the HARD count every time the QB calls on Three (3).

    6. Audibles may be called regardless of the snap count. If the count is on Set Hut the QBchanges the snap count by Easy, Easy to both sides, easing the line and signifying an

audible is being called. He then calls the audible and the snap count is automatically on

    one.

    AUDIBLE AT THE L.O.S

    1. A change of play at the L.O.S. may come at any time. If the center does not feel

Pressure, from the QB then he does not snap the ball.

    2. If the QB wants to change the play called in the huddle, he calls the LIVE COLOR,

BLUE for pass and GREEN for run, and the audible number, he pauses and repeats thecolor and number again. The QB then continues with the normal snap count.

    3. All audibles will go on a predetermined snap count, ONE.
