East African Playgrounds East African Playgrounds is a Ugandan NGO that builds international standard

playgrounds for communities, schools and NGO’s across the whole of Uganda. We

believe that alongside education, children need access to play activities to reach

their full potential. We envisage a world where all children have access to areas

where they can explore, learn, develop and play.

OUR PLAYGROUNDS

We build high quality, safe and fun

playgrounds using locally sourced materials

in Uganda. With the help of the community

and our playground building team we create

spaces for children to explore, develop and

enjoy!

WHY PLAY

Child’s play is about exploring, learning, creating and inspiring

which in turn develops a whole child: physically, emotionally,

cognitively and socially. By providing an environment that

encourages unstructured play it encourages children to think for

themselves, make sense of the world and inspire one another.

SUPPORTING UGANDA

Our aim is to support people in East Africa and therefore we

invest the majority of our time, finances and effort into the East

African communities that we work with. The majority of the

materials are sourced locally and the focus is on employing East

African members of staff.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

From the moment a community applies for a playground we work

in partnership to design, prepare, build and maintain the

playgrounds. We work with active communities that are

passionate about play.

build a playground to suit your community and your budget.

Every playground includes the six different areas of play to ensure your children

can access and benefit from the whole playground.

BUDGETING

Below are the costs of different playground packages:

Tyre Playground – 4 million Ugx (£1,000)

Small Playground – 12 million Ugx (£3,000)

Medium Playground – 20 million Ugx (£5,000)

Large Playground – 32 million Ugx (£8,000)

Deluxe Playground -40 million Ugx plus (£10,000 plus)

(The deluxe option does not have a section due to the

fact that it is completely custom designed)
