Playing with Khaos: Expanding on Sigils, Servitors and Shields (Part I)Domus Kaotica, Class A. by Frater Sheosyrath (-8, 5)

In this thread we're going to take a step back from the concepts and a step intothe applications ofKHAOS Magick. Practical Khaos magick does not necessarily require a Khaos lifestyle, although itobviously requires a bit of Kaotic thinking.

The Khaos Magick formula is simple: Intent + {Action(s)} = Reaction(s)

This is where the Khaos principle of "Everything is True; Nothing is Permitted."comes into play, becausethis formula encompasses all magick traditions; (to the best of my knowledge, itshould.) I.E. CeremonialMagick is Intent + Ritual = Result, Sigil Magick is Intent + Sigil process = Result. This posits that thingslike words of power and gnosis are not necessarily necessary. I don't think youcan get much simpler.Chaos Magick has led many a chaote to this empowering realization, and some newmethods of magickhave resulted. But what I want to do with this right now is expand and/or compress the existingmethods.

Creative ActionWe've always held that the key to evolution lies in the creative portion of thebrain. Some people will saythat they are inherently uncreative, however I want to posit that everyone is creative in -some- way; justsome peoples creative potential is more developed than others. Everyone has thatpart of their brain. Andthis leads me to the point of this paragraph; I think that the most powerful weapon we have to increaseour magickal ability is creative innovation.

    Expansion: Khaos Audio Sigils

I am an electronic music artist, and I very commonly create sigils with music. Iwill create a 'song' that is a'sigil'. The exact process, of course, starts with a solid, correctly phrased intent. Next I simply go with theflow of how I feel and start to create the track; I often enter a light trance state during creation. (Cannabisinduced, for example.) I then will usually either simply achieve gnosis while listening to the song, or evenmost potent I will achieve gnosis through audio overload + dancing/whirling withthe song/sigil. Ibelieve this is a very - uhm, for lack of a better term, powerful method, because you can then allowpeople to listen to the song without them ever knowing the intent, which can either charge it up for youor spread the intent amongst the unknowing. If you're good; well, people will WANT to listen! Hehe

Compression: On the fly BanishingYes, I am aware that this is not a new idea, but it still fits the topic and I would like to advocate its use. Many people rant and rave about the positive effects of doing the LBRP, but, youknow.. for us stoners, all those hand signals and words are just a pain in the ass. Through something Iwill call inherited

experience we can create a banishment that consists of one hand movement and oneword that producesthe exact same effect as the entire properly executed LBRP. Of course, you mustexecute the LBRP acouple times, but 5 times can substitute 100. So yes, first you must do the LBRP. I would recommenddoing it till you are sure you're getting the banishment effect, do everything you can; IE memorize andvibrate the words and all that. When you can produce the effect then decide on ashortcut. Decide on asimple hand movement and/or word to use. For me I draw a pentagram in the air with my finger once, and say Ablanti Josta Agla Caila. Fairly simple and still reminiscent of the ori

ginal operation. Ok, so youdo the LBRP and when you have that effect, concentrate on it, feel that feeling, know that effect and thenpreform your shortcut while you feel it and are concentrating on it. Do it a couple times then stop andwait a while, and repeat the process. I would say do it at least 3 times beforeyou try the shortcut on itsown. This should start to establish the link between that feeling and effect andthe shortcut. If you getweak or no results from your shortcut, well repeat the process a few more times. It's important to alsokeep in mind just what you're doing as you do the LBRP, the purpose of you doingthe ritual is to link the

effect to the shortcut. This works for me, don't think it will, well it's ok, you can the LBRP 5 times a day.

Innovation: Reactive ShieldingMost shielding methods people talk about are fairly simple, just make a ball around yourself to keep tehevilz out. The more advanced shield might have spikes or extra layers, but I'vetaken this a step further. Iuse what is called a Reactive Barrier, in that when something comes into contactwith my shield, the

shield reacts accordingly without my input. There are two types of Reactive barrier/shielding in use inthe mundane world, one is actual Reactive Armour in use on many modern battle tanks, and the ReactiveBarrier which is a part of a waste cleaning process. Both of these real world applications are integratedinto the Reactive Shielding I propose.

ERA is one of the more common types of Reactive Armour in use today, it's meantto protect against themore effective versions of anti-tank weaponry that make use of shaped charge projectiles. For reference, ashaped charge projectile is a warhead that is meant to embed itself deeply intoarmor before it detonates.Explosive Reactive Armor counters that by trying slow the projectile and lightenthe impact. When aprojectile strikes ERA the explosive charge detonates, propelling the plates apart against the projectile todamage and slow it. ERA may even completely destroy other non-shaped charge warheads, such aspenetrators. In a nutshell, the armor counter-attacks the attacker upon contact.Keep that in mind.

This is a diagram illustrating the mechanism of the Active Protection System (AP

    S) although it is closely associated with Reactive Shielding. In the Arena system adoppler radar detects incoming projectiles and launches a antidetonates and destroys most warheads. Again, counter attack upon the incoming attack to insure safety isThis is a rendition of the last and most docile of the reactive barriers I wanted to discuss, a PermeableReactive Barrier. I'll try to wrap this up as I feel like I've been typing forever... The PRB is used to filterand clean waste contaminated water. It lets the water through, but not the contaminants. I think that'sSo putting all of this together, allow me to overview the attributes of the Reactive Shield.

    - Seems inactive until under attack or stress- Reacts to hostile energy with a burst of energy meant to slow and weaken the attack- Follows this up by immediately diverting energy into sh- If conditions are right, the dissipating hostile energy can be filtered by theshield and used.- All energy flowing into and through the shield is filtered, it can even be designed to continuously draw- No hindrance while outputting energy or trying to do things like astral project; the inactive shield ismechanism of the Arena system, which is technically an Activeanti-warhead directed shrapnel blast ththe point I'm trying to get across.

active simple enough.ether, shieldingenergy from the environment.very thin and not noticeable.m thatAnyways, I'll be back later with more. Comments and questions are of course, always welcome. Continuation: Reactive ShieldingSo now that we've established the attributes of our proposed reactive shield, we've actually gotta startmaking the thing. As one would think, this is a bit trickier than just visualizing a normal shield. Irecommend doing the initial programming and visualization work in a meditation state. Start withvisualizing just a normal shield as the base to work from, don't go fancy and don't go big/overboard, infact start with a thin but solid single layer shield. From this I concentrate/meditate on the attributes andpurpose of my shield, I go over everything, that it is in fact a Reactive Shield, and what it does, how itdoes it, and why. Build the shield in your visualization over the base, add theattributes in layers andfirmly concrete it in your mind.* I failed to mention this in the attributes, so I will here; the Reactive Shield is always 'on' by design, however it operates at extremely minimal power requirements when it's inactive, the only power drain isthe shield keeping a thin but constant barrier to detect attack. From here you can either trust yourself or arrange for tests, it's not dangerousas the Reactive Shield doesnot attack the attacker, but the attack. To make sure the Shield is always prope

rly operating I always runa test function when I'm going into potentially harmful areas, IE I charge up all layers of the shield for amoment and then let it fall back to inactive mode. (With the spirit of this thread, I'll let you know that I'vesimplified this to, like I said, the test function, so I don't actually have toactually concentrate on theshield.)Before I continue I'll say that the Reactive Shielding has even more applications and attributes that arepossible than what I've gone over here, but this is the main concept. Hehe, I can't give away ALL mysecrets just yet, can I?

Dynamically Programmed ServitorsThis is something I initially came up on my own, however I have since found other people who havecame up with the very same idea on their own as well; although I have yet to seeanything like it bepublished. An acceptable definition of a "Servitor" would be "an independently functioning creation ofthe magicians thoughts meant to carry out a task or serve a purpose." Servitorscome in all shapes andsizes, from simple one task then die thought forms to more complex personified spirits, to groupegregores and independent entities. Most Servitors are created with a given setof instructions and then

set loose to fulfill their purpose, when they are no longer needed, they are done away with and new onesare made. I didn't want to have to go through his creation process over and over, and I didn't want to doaway with my Servitors because I found them much more useful with independent thought, and thatwould be killing a intelligent creation of myself. =/So I made my first DPS! A Dynamically Programmed Servitor is essentially a Servitor that can have itsfunctionality changed at any time with ease. Even the simplest form of DPS can b

e almost completely rewritten.I find it extremely difficult to change the shape, name and attitude of my Servitors, so once that isestablished, that's it. (It's hard.) But if you're a good namer and like your Servitors, it's not a problem. The simplest form of DPS is the Properties method. Like what is included in a computer file you create a'property sheet'. This works best as just a piece of paper. It would look something like this:Quote:Originally Posted by Liber SheosyrathBase AttributesName: ArtemisForm: Black Chinese SerpentSigil: N/A (Don't want anyone invoking my pet :P - But make a sigil, it's useful.)Personality Base: Sly, devious and deadly and intensely loyal.Attribute Base: Strong and fast; advanced perception; offensive and defensive prowess;FunctionalityPrimary functionality: Defense and counter-attack;-Defend against hostile magickal attacks;-Seek out those with malicious intent towards me and take preemptive -measures.-Protect the Temple of the Doombringer and the house it resides in from harm, -a

nd take preemptive measuresagainst malicious intent.Secondary Functionality: If preemptive measures fail to eliminate all harm doneto me, the temple, the house or myfamily, then react with the full force at your disposal. From there it's simple, create the initial Servitor as you normally would. The Sigil of that Servitor, whichis initially defined on the property sheet, is the link between the Servitor andthe Programming (thesheet). So when you want to make changes just take out the property sheet (SAVEIT! I had to say it.) andedit it (use a pencil!). You can add functionality, take it away if it's givingyou problems and experiment

with what works for you, and you only have to *create* the little guy once. After you've made yourchanges just refresh the charge on the sigil, if the Servitor is an independently thinking servitor then Iwould suggest letting it know before you charge the sigil and update it so it'llbe ready.Much more complex DPS' can be constructed by simply elaborating on this method,I.E. instead of simplyusing functionality descriptions, a truly advanced DPS would be written in 'code'. (Programming code!)This would give you the ability to very finely tune your Servitors function, allowing for specificresponses and conditions. There is potential there. I don't feel like trying to

create an example piece ofcode for you at the moment, sorry, but you may see a C++ tutorial for reference. This truly concludes Part I. (See! I was so not finished.)Again, don't be scurrred! It's only PUSSY!Hahaha
