SORRENTO DUOMO Located in the heart of Sorrento, the Cathedral dates back to the X-XII centuries, when it was transferred inside the urban surrounding wall. Sorrento Cathedral is dedicated to the Saints Phillip and James and it is said to be risen on the ruins of an ancient Temple dedicated to Jupiter. The Church houses paintings by artists from the Neapolitan school of the 1700s, an archbishop’s throne in fine marbles (1573) and a wooden marquetry work of Sorrentine craftsmen of the beginning of the 19th century. In the last chapel on the left an important nativity scene of the Neapolitan tradition is kept. The poet Torquato Tasso, the best known citizen of the town, was baptized in the church's baptistery. DOMINOVA SEAT This is the only remaining testimony of the old noble seats and dates to the XVI century. The 17th century cupola is formed by green and yellow majolica roof-tiles. THE OLD WALLS A part of the Greek defensive wall still remaining is under the road at the Porta Parsano Nuova and can be viewed close to the same door. CLOISTER A few meters from Piazza Sant’Antonino, where the Basilica dedicated to the patron saint of Sorrento stands, in Piazza Francesco Saverio Gargiulo – close to the Villa Comunale – rises a historic triptych set in a volcanic tuff wall known around the Peninsula Area as “conventual complex of San Francesco d’Assisi”. The elements which characterize the triptych are: the Church, the Monastery and the Cloister. During the summer period, the Cloister is transformed and becomes the background for works of art exhibitions and of the Sorrentine Musical Summer, an extraordinary continuation of appointments bound to music with the presence of artists coming from all over the world.

VESUVIUS HALF DAY (GROUP UP TO 50 PEOPLE)

PERIOD: from 3rd April to 27th October OPERATING ON: MON – FRI DURATION : HALF DAY PICK UP: 8:00 am Hilton Green Gate Visit the only active volcano on mainland Europe that dominates the bay of Naples! Mount Vesuvius is best known for its eruption in 79 AD that led to the burying and destruction of the Roman cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum. The drive will take you up Mount Vesuvius to 1000 meters from where, if you wish, you can walk up to the crater and meet an authorized Alpine guide who will be at your disposal for any questions.

HIKING TOUR: FAITO 4X4 THE MOUNTAIN FACING THE SEA PERIOD: from 3rd April to 27th September OPERATING ON: TUE – THU - SAT DURATION : FULL DAY PICK UP: 8:30 am Hilton Green Gate The Mount Faito is the highest point of the Sorrento Peninsula from where you can enjoy breathtaking view of the Gulf of Naples! Travel from Sorrento by 4x4 van up to Mount Faito where you’ll meet your guide before proceeding to the end of the access route and experience an adventurous ride. Once on the top get off the 4x4 van and immerse yourself in the nature by starting a pleasant walking tour with your guide to discover the beauty of this enchanting piece of the Peninsula. Afterwards you’ll get refreshed by a light lunch served in a restaurant on the top of the mountain before continuing the tour to a characteristic “Agriturismo” where you’ll be introduced to the local products besides a short visit of this great location. ROME ONE DAY (GROUP UP TO 50 PEOPLE)

PERIOD: from 11th April to 24th October OPERATING ON: TUESDAY DURATION : FULL DAY PICK UP: 7:15 am Hilton Green Gate

This is a unique opportunity to visit the “Eternal City”: The Rome daily excursion is available each Tuesday, the departure from Sorrento is at 07:00 am approx. and the return at night at around 10:30 pm. The guide is not allowed to walk with the group in Rome (she is a Campania licensed guide), so all the explanations about the city and the itinerary for the day will be given on the bus. Upon arrival in Rome, the bus will go to the Vatican; the arrival is at approx.12.00 noon. The coach heads straight for the parking area, from where the tour leader escorts customers on foot to St Peter’s Square and provides information for those who would like to take the lift and stairs to the top of the Basilica’s dome. Customers then have 3 hours to explore the city on their own; some suggestions are: 1. Visit the Vatican museums and Sistine Chapel 2. Visit the Basilica 3. Visit the tombs under the Basilica where past Popes are laid to rest 4. Visit the “Cupola” the area at the very top of the Basilica’s dome(this involves a ride in the lift followed by 320 claustrophobic steps). 5. Browse around the shops and stalls selling books and souvenirs. Carrying on, bus will lead guests to the Colosseum area, where is provided 1 hour of free time. Customers rejoin the coach after the visit to the Colosseum for the return journey to Sorrento. Return to resort at 10.00 – 11.00 pm depending on traffic throughout the day.

SORRENTO MUSICAL

The Tasso Theatre stages a Musical, lasting 75 minutes, which reconstructs our cultural roots through song and dance, with several scenery

changes throughout the show creating an atmosphere of color and merriment. At 20.30 the clients will be met in the foyer of the theatre and will

be offered a welcome drink. Once inside there will be orchestra playing dances music until 21.30 when the show will start. At the end of the

show, the audience will be invited to continue dancing, amidst the scenery of the musical.

Ticket price: € 25,00 per person (includes welcome drink)
