Cell Cycle is a very importan process in which cell are able to self- reproduce and preserve their genetic material

The Cell Cycle is composed by 5 phases, G1,S,G2,Mitosis and G0

1. c-di-GMP controls the cell cycle in a similar way as a traffic

light works. In the absence of c-di-GMP in the cell, the light shows red. This indicates that the cell will have to remain in

the first phase of the cell cycle.

Page 7: Plegable biomol

SMALL SIGNALING MOLECULES GIVES GREEN LIGHT FOR CELL DIVISION

If the c-di-GMP level increases, the light

switches to green and the cell enters the

next phase.

However, as soon as c-di-GMP is produced, it binds to the enzyme,

thus altering its structure and mode of action. Subsequently, this

blockade is lifted and the bacterial chromosome can be copied.

SMALL SIGNALING MOLECULES GIVES GREEN LIGHT FOR CELL DIVISION Student opinion.

I think this is important because, they are many thing´s that are still a mystery, regarding all this process , and discovering this new molecules will help us reach the goal of understanding this whole process

How dividing cells end up the same size.

How dividing cells end up the same size

This finding goes against recent publications

suggesting cells always add the same amount of mass, with some random

fluctuations, before beginning division.

Page 12: Plegable biomol

How dividing cells end up the same size

The team was looking at how genes on circular pieces of DNA called

plasmids segregate when cells divide by tagging the

genes with different fluorescent colors.

Page 13: Plegable biomol

How dividing cells end up the same size

The setup allows researchers to watch hundreds of cells go

through divisions over dozens of generations and was key in seeing

the baffling oscillations.

Student Opinion

This investigation is import because will help us, in a better understanding of

the cell reproductive system and how mom

cells, are a main fact for future studies.

MEDICAL UTILITY

Page 16: Plegable biomol

Medical Utility

These studies represent a good advance to reveal

new data, about the process of cell

reproduction, that may be used for future studies

of their main related pathology, the cancer.

Page 17: Plegable biomol

Medical Utility

Discovering new molecules that are

involved in the process is very important

because, ass better we know the mechanism ,

we will be able to repair it and make it better.

Page 18: Plegable biomol

Medical Utility

Most of the cancer start during the cell cycle, and the

oportunity to repair this is by studying this process and keep discovering new information, that will lead us to the cure.
