Why? In the disaggregated world, no single vendor has complete ownership of the End-to-End product, thus potential customers would have to go through extensive integration and testing to verify the performance of both the device(s), and the device(s) integrated into an End-to-End network. The PlugFest Project Group addresses this by testing combinations of hardware and software in an End-to-End environment representative of an operator network. The PlugFest Project Group is consolidating the testing and validation of devices, aiming at reducing the load on both OEMs and Mobile Network Operators (MNOs). For the OEMs, the complexity of validation is reduced by going through a single common testing in conditions similar to MNO environment. For MNOs, onboarding validated products ensure that the test cycle will be shortened. PlugFestThe PlugFest Project Group defines test architecture and plan that give opportunity for operators to validate TIP technologies in the End-to-End environment.

Why?In the disaggregated world, no single vendor has complete ownership of the End-to-End product, thus potential customers would have to go through extensive integration and testing to verify the performance of both the device(s), and the device(s) integrated into an End-to-End network.

DevelopmentsPlugFests focus on an End-to-End architecture allowing to test the functional areas, domains, or a combination of both, in an environment similar to what Service Providers have implemented. The E2E environment was initially used to test S1 Interoperability, then transport, primarily focusing on Disaggregated Cell Site Gateway (DSCG).In 2020, PlugFest will continue testing product in E2E environment but will also evolve toward testing and validating complete solution. The following PlugFest are in planning for 2020

• Rural Site Configuration

• TIP 4G/5G RAN

• Smart Cities Site Solution

• Mobile Data Offload
