A new way to enjoy the slopes

Since December 2011 – Snow & ParkSnow & Park, the ski area within a ski resort. The 6-seater Alp Dado – Crest La Siala chairlift was success-fully put into operation for the first phase. Due to the sustainable construction and a driving speed of 6 m/s, the facility counts as the fastest chairlift in the Alpine region. The wood used for the stations is sourced en-tirely from the region. Our own photovoltaic system also covers the power needs required for heating the seats. The beginners' area and park with simplified slo-pes, small obstacles and kickers is ideal for freestyle beginners. The new Ils Plauns snow park makes the hearts of all advanced and freestyle pros beat faster.

December 2012 – opening of two new 6-seater chairliftsAs part of the major project, «Revolution on the Moun-tain», the ski area will have two more 6-seater chair-lifts by the 2012/13 winter season. Treis Palas – Crap

Masegn and Plaun Lavadinas – Fuorcla Sura. Revolution on the Mountain is not just about the construction of new cableways. It means much more – a re-configura-tion of the ski area: Beginners and less experienced skiers and snowboarders can reach higher altitudes more comfortably and safely and can therefore expe-rience the whole ski area.

With 29 cableways now available, this will make LAAX the largest connected skiing area in the Grisons.

World premiere: 6-seater Plaun lavadi-nas – Fuorcla Sura chairlift designed by Porsche Design StudiosHighlights: Exclusive design in cooperation with BMF and Porsche Design Studios. 45 degree tilting seat thanks to a pivot mechanism, a travel speed of 6 m/s, heated seats, weatherproof hood and kids' stop.

Winter season 2014/15 – la Siala repla-cementIn a third phase, the Alp Sogn Martin – La Siala facility is due to be completed by the 2014/15 winter season. Highlights: increased routes, better coverage of the Nagens and La Siala area with new slopes or lengthe-ned slopes.

cassons developmentAs a replacement for the Cassons aerial cableway, a new cableway is planned from Punt Desch – Crap La Tgina, approximately 700 m west of the current Cas-sons mountain station. Also planned is the replace-ment of the Flims – Foppa – Naraus chairlifts with a new 10-seater gondola from Flims – Punt Desch.

Start: Crap Sogn Gion, descent via slope no. 52 to-wards the Alp Dado base station. Note the relaxed boarding at the base station: Barriers and moving car-pet have been deliberately avoided here. Ascent with the 6-seater Alp Dado – Crest la Siala chairlift, then

descent via slope no. 47 to the Treis Palas base stati-on. Ascent with the new 6-seater chairlift, and thanks to heated seats, which are built into all new chairlifts, you no longer have to freeze. Onwards via descent no. 44 towards the Lavadinas base station. Slope prepa-ration has been simplified and it is now blue and also suitable for less experienced winter sports partici-pants.

If you still have not had enough, then go again – via the new red slope no. 36, which descends rapidly to the base station. Arriving at the Fuorcla Sura mountain station, the new descent no. 38 awaits you. You can enjoy a pleasant run via the new blue and partly red slopes towards Plaun station. In and around Laax, there are many cool places and shopping opportunities. Here are a few tips: In the NoName snow park at 2222 metres above sea level, the freestyle scene meets for a place to chill out and talk shop. In the valley, in Indy, the scene is more re-laxed with cool drinks, chill out sounds. Another mee-ting point is the Legna Bar at Flims base station. From 3 pm there is an après ski party and the best DJ se-ssions. You can also dance the night away at Tegia Larnags. Better known as a restaurant, Tegia Larnags offers après ski music in the basement or on the sun terrace with a great party atmosphere. Even in terms of shopping you can expect the very best from this destination. Countless shops in Flims and Laax inspire snow sports enthusiasts and freestylers alike. Whe-ther in Chopp, Alprausch or Free and Boarderworld in Flims, as well as the Amalgan, the Garage or Free and Boarderworld in Laax. They all offer a sophisticated shopping experience.

The Curnius Park provides almost endless jibbing ple-asure. On the 1 km stretch from Crap Sogn Gion to Curnius there are around 25 obstacles of moderate to diffi cult level. The NoName snow park not only ins-pires with a good mix of kickers, rails and boxes, but also there is the superpipe and the minipipe. Cafe No-Name is a popular meeting point and the best spot to enjoy chill out music and a good atmosphere in the sun and watch other riders.

The Ils Plauns snow park and the beginners' park offer plenty of space and variety for all skill levels. In the NoName snow park, you can drop into Europe's largest half-pipe. Smart Style is a guide for safe behaviour in snow parks. The information provided in the guide is in the form of instructions not rules, and this has been well received and successfully imple-mented by recipients. The guide calls upon the res-ponsibility of the user, and at the same time, also al-lows for greater freedom in the design of the snow parks. Smart Style essentially means having fun in a safe and smart way.
