Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the Naonal Council of Resistance of Iran:

The annulment of the terror tag has lted the balance of power between the resistance

movement and the regime, and has prepared the ground for recuperaon of Resistances

forces inside Iran and the expansion of its units.

The Resistance under leadership of Mrs. Rajavi is mullahs credible alternave and should be recognized as such.

Rudy Giuliani, Mayor of New York (1994-2001):

Mrs. Rajavis plaorm is the plaorm of democracy: no war, separaon of religion and state, womens rightsand rule of law. This is a polical campaign that has all the necessary aributes to bring change in Iran.

Paris International Conference - November 17, 2012In an internaonal conference in Paris entled PMOI Delisng and

Prospect of Change in 2013, prominent American, French and Arab

personalies reiterated the urgent threat of mullahs regime to

peace, tranquility and democracy in the region and the globe and

warned that the me for adopng a new policy against this regime

is quickly running out.The keynote speaker of the conference held at the invitaon

But the bale has moved. It is no longerin the carters of power of Washington. It is no longer in capitals around theglobe. It is no longer in the diasporacommunity. These ghts we have won.The opposion is united. It is strong, it is

recognized. The bale now turns to Iranitself. It is me to take to the streets. Itis me to rise up. It is me to take theMullahs down. It is me for a free Iran, and that me is now. While the struggle

The U.S. Judiciary, like the European, theBrish, and the French Judiciaries orderedvarious polical leaders to remove PMOIfrom the list. Hilary Clinton removed PMOIfrom the list, and in my opinion, this is a

very important event whose importancemay not have yet been fully recognized. One cannot speak of full victory yet,and it is a mistake to forget the issue of

of the French Commiee for a Democrac Iran (CFID) wasMrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian Resistance.Prominent personalies from the United States, as well as Frenchparliamentarians, a delegaon from Syrian Resistance, and aparliamentary delegaon from Egypt parcipated and deliveredtheir speech at the conference.

Excerpts from various speeches at the conference are presented inthis issue of the Iran Liberaon.

evicon of Ashraf residents who have gone to Liberty. Their day-to-day condions are worse than what it was at Ashraf. And nally, weshould not forget the situaon at Ashraf, even though there are onlya few PMOI members le there in order to sell their properes. It is especially important for us to look to the future. By looking to thefuture, we feel that something has changed. The Iranian regime has a central role in the current turmoil in theMiddle East which has made living, impossible. To solve the problems,we must do all that we can, to change the Iranian regime which is alsoseeking nuclear weapons. Change it with a government that is clearly

dening itself as democrac, a government that all the countries inthe world can recognize it and extend a hand of friendship toward it,and be able to embark on major tasks. Therefore, long live PMOI andbravo for your work.

The FTO (Foreign Terrorist Organizaon) lisng is repealed and now theght goes on to Tehran for a free Iran. The fact that the FTO was unjust, the reality that it never should have happened makes our success noless signicant. As a diaspora community, with friends on every cornerof the globe, we worked, we united, and we have brought under thesingular leadership of the PMOI the cause of Iranian freedom.

The years of appeasement have proven not to work. The aemptsto engage the Mullahs were a failure. The repeal of the FTO will beremembered by history as a crical beginning in liberaon of free Iranand you lived to see it. And you were part of it. If you are part of thismovement, this congratulaons is to all of you, you have changed thecourse of history.

This is our rst meeng following the removalof the Peoples Mojahedin Organizaon ofIran (PMOI/MEK) from the U.S. list of foreignterrorist organizaons. I thank all of you, our

brave and jusce-seeking friends, on behalfof the Iranian people and their Resistance, foryour eorts and helping us and the residentsof Ashraf and Liberty in this campaign. The terrorist list, which protected the religiousfascism against the waves of change andfreedom, has now crumbled. In the true senseof the phrase, the balance of power betweenour resistance movement and the clericalregime has been lted.Today, our resistance movement emergesin order to organize and propel forward astruggle, which by relying on the people andcourageous youth of Iran, will lead to the

establishment of freedom and liberty in Iran. Therefore, as the leader of the IranianResistance, Massoud Rajavi said: It is the taskof every freedom loving Iranian who wishes tobreak the chains of oppression and parcularly, the brave Iranian youth who consider Ashraf astheir symbol, to rise up everywhere in Iran. Two fundamental changes promise thevelayat-e faqih regimes ulmate demise andoverthrow. The rst is the culminaon of theregimes crises and the promise of a watershedmoment. And the second is the removal of thechains of the terrorist designaon from thehands and feet of a movement that acts as theengine and pivotal force for this change.

Let us rst look at the circumstances that theclerical regime nds itself in. The regime isentangled in a ve-pronged crisis, each oneof which leads it to either an implosion oroverthrow. The rst crisis involves the popular anger anddisenchantment that is condensed underbrutal suppression. The ruling clerics have no way forward orbackward when it comes to dealing with thesevere and prevailing anger in Iranian society.

If they come close to yielding to thepeoples polical demands, they wouldquickly lose control of the society. On the other hand, if they connue

conducng mass hangings or inhumanerepression, the widespread socialresistance will obstruct all the regimespolicies. The second crisis involves the overthrowof Syrias dictatorship.Regardless of the regimes decision toconnue its involvement in commingcrimes in Syria or to retreat from suchcriminal meddling, either way, the fall ofAssad is inevitable. It is only a maer ofme. And such a change is part and parcelof the project to overthrow the clerical

regime since it would mark a defeat thatwould cause reverberaons stretchingall the way to Tehran.

This is why it has intensiedwarmongering in the region in order toforestall the downfall of Bashar Assad.

The third crisis is the disintegraon ofthe regimes ruling elite. Faced withthe intensicaon of a power struggleamong the regimes internal facons, theregimes Supreme Leader Ali Khameneisees no good opons. If he were to sharepower with the other facons, a huge riwould emerge at the top of the regimeshierarchy and similar to 2009 the

opportunity for popular uprisings willemerge. On the other hand, if Khameneichooses to iniate further internalpurges, then he would experiencefurther weakness, destabilizaon andinternal crisis in his regime. The fourth crisis faced by the regime isthe impasse over the nuclear program. The velayat-e faqih system is alsohelpless when it comes to the nuclearcrisis.

    failed policy of appeasement

with the mullahs and adopt a

    fresh and irm policy.

After the fall of Syrian dictator,

it would be mullahs turn to be

    overthrown.

If it were to decide to stop its nuclearprogram as a result of sancons, such aretreat would mean that Khamenei hasdrunk the hemlock, accepng a hugedefeat, which would act as a precursor tothe downfall of the enre regime. But, if he decides to insist on marchingforward with the development of a nuclear

weapon, then he would have to brace forthe threat of toughening sancons andpossible military acons, which would bringan end to his regime. The h crisis is the regimes economic ruinand bankruptcy, which it cannot prevent. The mullahs would either have to stopdedicang enormous funds to suppressionand terrorism and lessen the inuence

of the Islamic Revoluonary Guard Corps(IRGC) in the Iranian economy, which wouldpave the way for widespread popularprotests, or it would have to connue withthe current catastrophic situaon, whichwould produce a massive explosion causedby the anger of the unemployed, thehungry and the impoverished. The fundamental reality is that this crisishas entered its nal phase, resulng inacceleraon of developments and bringingthe mullahs closer to making a choicebetween implosion or overthrow:- Their retreat would mean the regimesimplosion and the beginning of popularprotests;- The connuaon of the current policieswould mean confrontaon and collisionwith the internaonal community leadingto the regimes overthrow. It is clear that despite the existence of suchfatal challenges, the mullahs downfallwill not be automac and spontaneous. An organized movement is required toactualize the potenals of the current ripecircumstances and lead it to its eventualvictory. The delisng of the PMOI has removedthe twenty-year-old chains of a competent

movement that can act as the fulcrum for agreat change.

Therefore, the requisite condions thathave ripened are the following: rst, apopulaon that stands ready for change;second, a regime whose ruling elite isdisintegrang; and, third, a resistancemovement which is able to fulll itshistorical role.

The extraordinarily important conclusionto which these circumstances lead canbe summed up in the following sentence:

The me for overthrowing the mullahs hasarrived. The mullahs have no way out andwill be swept away.In order to escape this fate, the clericalregime connues to conduct massexecuons. There have been 445 hangingsso far this year. In recent weeks, SaarBehesh died under torture. The crime ofSaar, a heroic worker, was that he askedthe mullahs one simple queson: Whydont you step down from power? One of the most important results of thePMOIs delisng was the increase in moraleand self-condence of the Iranian society,

especially the youth, who see that theirleading organizaon made possible whatseemed impossible, and that it did so byrelying on its own strengths and potenals. This change has also made possible theregrouping of the resistance movementinside Iran, as well as the ability to expandand link together the Resistances units.Yes, a very signicant result is the beginningof a new trend to organize the Resistancesunits inside Iran.Over the last decade, the Iranian Resistancehas been able to expose the most top secretaspects of the regimes nuclear programand its terrorist networks.

The mullahs nuclear crisis is completelythe result of the acvies, pain and blood

of the Resistances members inside Iran. The role of this Resistance in the uprisingsof 2009 demonstrates another aspect of itsabilies and potenals.According to a classied report of theregimes Ministry of Intelligence andSecurity, those who formed the core unitsof the uprisings were either inuenced bythe PMOIs stance or were members of theResistance network. This is why the clerical

regime hanged a number of the PMOIsmembers and supporters and some ofthose arrested are sll in prison. The clerical regimes security apparatus hasalso launched intensive measures to derailthe Resistance movements fund-raisingeorts. But it has not been able to stop theow of such nancial support.Of course, the biggest defeat for themullahs has been their failure todestroy the residents of Ashraf and theirorganizaon and movement. The decade-long perseverance of the Ashraes, whichhas infused Iranian society with the spirit

and inspiraon of determinaon andstruggle, remains to be the Iranian peoplesmost valuable asset for obtaining freedom. It is on the basis of these sources ofstrength that aer the PMOIs delisng ourResistance has the opportunity to take aleap forward in its struggle to overthrowthe velayat-e faqih regime.Dear Friends,We have nally succeeded in removingthe obstacle of the terrorist designaon. And, now, a hundred new fronts for workand struggle have opened up in front of us,which signal the expansion and growth ofthe struggle at this stage.

Before us lies the prospect of a struggle

that will prove more intense, but onewhich at the same me will promise a morehopeful and more glorious result. This is astruggle that the Resistances members andsupporters in Ashraf, Liberty, in Iran andall over the world are paying the price forthrough their sacrices. So, I would like to once again invite allthe Resistances friends, advocates of

democracy and dignied individuals all overthe world, to acvely rise up in support ofthis Resistance. An important aspect of our struggleremains to be the rejecon of the westerngovernments policy of appeasement andthe removal of the obstacles on the path ofchange in Iran one aer the other. In the U.S., the administraon of PresidentObama has been re-elected for a secondterm. That administraon ocially pursueda policy of engagement with the Iranianregime in its rst term in oce. This policyhas failed and has had three disturbing

consequences:First, awarding the mullahs with a goldenfour-year opportunity to move forwardwith their nuclear program;Second, handing over the government ofIraq to the religious fascism, which meansleaving behind a catastrophic Iraq thatconnues to bleed; And, third, giving an open hand to themullahs and their Iraqi surrogates tosuppress and murder Ashraes. Now that the administraon prepares tostart its second term, I hope that it haslearnt from the failure of the policy ofengagement and the enormous damages

that it has caused for the peoples of Iran,Iraq, and the enre region, and that it

would adopt a rm policy vis--vis theIranian regime. Our expectaon and that of the Iranianpeople from the U.S. government is onlyone thing: Respect the Iranian peoples willto overthrow the religious dictatorship. This is in your interest and the interest ofthe whole world.

Though the internaonal sancons havebeen implemented against the regime in

several areas, sll, the overriding current ofwestern policy towards Iran remains to bethe policy of appeasement. This is the stance that allays the fears of the

Iranian regime, because the regime seesthat instead of halng all relaons, westerngovernments are sll ocially in contactwith the regimes lobbies, they are listeningwith open ears to the analysis and reportsproduced by the mullahs IntelligenceMinistry.

They regularly associate with the faconsand lobbies which loudly proclaim thatfaced with the prospect of a victory

for the Iranian Resistance; they wouldundoubtedly prefer the preservaon of theruling mullahs. It must be asked from westerngovernments, why have you accepted theprolonging of nuclear negoaons thatbenet the mullahs? Are you waing forthe rst nuclear bomb to be dropped onyour heads? Why are you not closing allthe loopholes that the regime can useto circumvent internaonal sancons?Sancons cannot be allowed to become asubject of dealings and appeasement. Whyare you not taking any serious measures toprevent the regimes aid to the bloodthirsty

dictator in Syria? It is astounding that you have chosen

to stay silent even when it comes to theregimes large terrorist operaons in recentmonths that have occurred from Bulgaria,to Malaysia, to Azerbaijan and Georgia. Why dont you put the leaders of thisregime on trial for their involvement innumerous crimes against humanity? Why dont you stop supplying the regimewith the means of suppression, such asan-riot vehicles or equipment to control

telephone and internet communicaon? And why are you connuing to cooperatewith the enemy of the people of Iran?Yes, we say, stop this policy and expel theregimes notorious networks of intelligenceagents from western countries.Halt your polical relaons with thevelayat-e faqih regime and close the doorsof its embassies.

Fortunately during recent days we havewitnessed a new approach from the Frenchgovernment that has decided to recognizethe coalion of the Syrian opposion andto provide arms to the Syrian Freedom

army. We hope that other countries willfollow this path. The western policy of appeasement haspaved the way for the mullahs in Iran andtheir puppet government in Iraq to createa variety of inhumane restricons for thePMOI members in Camp Liberty. They have been deprived of minimumhuman rights and humanitarian standardsand they have been forced to live in a prisonand are subjected to servitude. These residents are considered protectedpersons under the Fourth GenevaConvenon and they are recognized asrefugees and asylum seekers subject to

    internaonal protecons, according to the

    Pennsylvania (2002-

    2011)

We all share in this victory. For you to thank us isgenerous because in manyways it was you, it was thesupporters of the MEK, it

was the people who believed in Madam Rajavi, and MadamRajavi herself who made this victory possible. We would not have achieved this victory without you andyour perseverance and we must pause and say without thewonderful perseverance and forbearance of those 3400people at camp Ashraf. They were forced for no good reason

to leave Ashraf, no one ever explained to me or any of uswhy they had to leave Ashraf, why we could have not donethe immigraon from Ashraf. They were forced to leave abeauful city that they have created themselves, a city withsymphony orchestras and wonderful amenies, to go whatis a step above a prison camp, but they did it with courageand perseveranceWe understand that rst and foremost we must ensure thesafety and decency and dignity of residents of camp Liberty. That means geng Liberty classied as a refugee camp.Secondly, they have to be able to sell the property thatremains in Ashraf. That is simple and just and fair. The Iraqi government with assistance from the UN has putevery block possible in the way of a fair disposion of thatproperty. We have to take it on our shoulders that the UN

and the US get the message to the Iraqis that there mustbe a fair disposion of that property and that is absolutelyessenal.I know I speak for all of us by saying that our job will not beover unl we know two things for certain: number one, thelast resident of camp Ashraf is safely out of Iraq; numbertwo, there is a democrac government installed in Tehran.Unl those things happen we pledge to you that we wouldbe there as strong and as supporve as we were every stepof the road.

So, we are looking forward to see Madam Rajavi in the USand we are looking to see all of you someday soon in Tehran.

Now, there has been delisng, now thereis the ability of this wonderful coalionunder Madam Rajavi to be able toadvocate all over the world including inthe United States. This is a victory that is a very important one that makes alot of other things possible. It would not have been possible, as the otherspointed out, without your tremendous support. The 100,000 people that showed up at the events in Paris, all your supportthroughout the last 3 or 4 years, it would not have been possible withoutthe bravery and the courage of the people originally in Camp Ashraf whoare now in Camp Liberty. It would not have been possible without all of my

colleagues here, all of whom took some risk and had a great deal of couragein supporng this. But every eort like this, that is so complicated, so dicult and so diverseneeds a leader. It needs one person that can bring it all together. It needsa person who has to somemes make very dicult decisions, somemesdecisions that put human life at risk, even the human lives that you regardas the most valuable, and that leader was in fact Madam Rajavi. Withouther that would not have been possible. And I know, having been at someof the very crical meengs and telephone conversaons and other thingsthat happened over the summer, our admiraon --I know I can speak forall my colleagues-- our admiraon for you Madam Rajavi is limitless. Youshowed us strength, and you showed something that somemes is missing, wisdom, restraint, and without that we wouldnt be where we are today, which is why I am so encouraged that we can accomplish so much moreunder your leadership.

But, before we can even talk about that, we have to remember the peoplewho put their lives most at risk, some of whom have lost their lives to makeeven what we have achieved possible, and that is the people originally atAhsraf and now at Liberty.Without delay, Liberty should be designated a refugee camp by the UnitedNaons now, not later, today, it should be done. It should have been donebefore, it should be done now.Ambassador Kobler must live up to the promise that he made that theproperty of the people of Ashraf would be sold, that it would be done fairlyand that it will be done properly and so far he has reneged on that promise. You dont get away with breaking promises not to us, we will make sure thathe keeps that promise.

Linda ChavezFormer White House Director of Public Liaison

It is not the victory that we are seeking as long as there is not freedom in Camp Liberty; as long as there isnot freedom for the people in Iran we have not achieved our end. I am condent that with the leadership ofthe PMOI and with the leadership of Madam Rajavi that goal will in fact be a reality and it will happen soonIt is me for my government to give up the noon of engagement. You cannot engage with tyranny. Youcannot engage with those who would repress their people. The me for engagement is over, and the mefor the support for democracy of the people of Iran is now.A regime can be judged by how it treats its women, and a regime that represses their freedom -- theytreat women as if they are chael without any rights whatsoever-- is an illegimate government and anillegimate regime, and when we look to see how that regime will be replaced, what a beng irony if thePresident-elect of the Naonal Council of Resistance of Iran who is a women replaces those Mullahs in Iran. That is what we want to see. We must remember the 3000 people who are sll capve in camp Liberty, acamp that should not even have the world Liberty in its name. The people of Camp Liberty are not free. They should be recognized, it should be the posion of the United States government to demand of the

UN that the UN High Commissioner for Refugees be put in charge of the fate of the people in Camp Liberty.

    Tom Ridge

    First U.S. Homeland Security

    Secretary (2003-2005)

This horrible designaon wasnt removed gradually. It took a lot of

eorts and it took the death of some of the people in Ashraf. It took the

persistence of Mrs. Rajavi and the persistence of the people on the stage

and your persistence. But it didnt happen gradually.

The people in the State Department keep urging that we do things

gradually. Imagine going gradually from driving on the le hand side of

the road to the right hand side of the road; you can assure that if you do

that a lot of people are going to get killed.

When it [freedom for Iran] happens, it got to happen decisively and

swily, and it is going to happen decisively and swily because the

pressure is building. It is building among you, and it is building among the

people in Iran, and it is building among the people in Camp Liberty, and

it is building in Syria, and it is building among all freedom loving people

    in the world.

The spirit that brought about the delisng is really something that comes

    from your tradion and ours.

I am actually going to give a coin to each of the people on the stage to

carry as a reminder of what they did and what needs to be done. On one

side of the coin there is a familiar gure, familiar to you, the lion as an

ancient symbol of Iran and the words of a great Farsi poet.

I am sure I am going to mangle the Farsi so please be paent with me.

The words in Farsi are: Bani Adam Aazay Yek Digarand. Those are the

words that are inscribed in English in the entrance pole of the United

Naons and means of one essence as the human race, and that was a

very important way that we got here.

On the other side (of the coin) is an American eagle and some words

from our history. The words from one of our great presidents Abraham

Lincoln in which he described how we are going to go forward aer the

civil war. One of the memorable phrases he used was with rmness in

the right, and thats how we acted up to now and thats how we are

    going to go forward.

So, of one essence as the human race and if we acted with rmness in

the right, we will see all of you in a free Tehran.

There is an expression sayingyou cant start a re without a

spark. Historians record who andwhen and where, but the amehas been lit and let it connue toburn whitely unl Camp Liberty isdesignated a refugee camp, unlthe men and women in Libertyand Ashraf are reunited with theirloved ones, and unl the voices

of free people of Iran are heard and there is a democrac electedgovernment in Tehran.Several years ago the United States recognized residence of Ashraf, once they turned in the means to protect themselves, as protectedpersons under the Fourth Geneva Convenon. We handed a leerto every individual in Camp Ashraf and we guaranteed their safety, their security and their protecon. It is our responsibility and our

moral obligaon to keep our promises to these people. It is me forus to insist on Liberty camp being designated as a refugee camp, andpromote a free Iran a democracally elected free Iran. It is aboutme we kept our promise..A terrorist Iran with or without nuclear weapons is sll a terroristIran, we need to understand that.It is a concern to some of us that some of the exibility that PresidentObama promised Vladimir Pun before the elecon, some of thatexibility may be shown to the mullahs. This is not a me forexibility Mr. President!Over the past few years you said Mubarak must go, you said Qaddamust go, you said Assad must go. I am waing for you Mr. Presidentto say Ahmadinejad and the mullahs must go.I have a suggeson. Iran, not the people but the regime should belisted as a terrorist organizaon. You have taken the MEK o, put theregime on. If you are looking for somebody, put the regime on.Abraham Lincoln once observed revoluons dont go backwards.Decades ago the MEK revolted against repression and tyranny andthe subjugaon of basic human rights. You have lost husbands andfathers, wives and mothers, sons and daughters, sisters and brothers. For decades Iranians, MEK or non-MEK, had endured brutality, torture, imprisonment, and murder. But the revoluon has neverand never gone backwards.Man can be destroyed but cannot be defeated. You can imprison aman but not an idea. You can murder a man but not an idea. The ideaof a peaceful, freedom loving Iran with duly elected representavesby the people, of the people, and for the people is a righteouscause. It is an idea that cannot be defeated. Revoluons do not gobackwards! Viva MEK!

    Connued from page 5

UN High Commission for Refugees. Therefore, we must ask why the U.S., theEU and the UN have refused to demandthus far that Liberty be recognized as arefugee camp? And, why are they notusing their inuence in Iraq to stop theIraqi governments harassment andsuppressive measures against them? And,why have they remained silent as the Iraqigovernment robs the PMOIs assets andproperes in Ashraf and Liberty?Unfortunately instead of being a facilitator,

the UN is the de facto backer of the Iraqis

against the PMOI. I call on the UN SecretaryGeneral to put an end to this inacceptablesituaon. Otherwise, the UN may face agreat scandal. This silence, inacon and submission to thedictates and desires of the religious fascismand its cohorts in Iraq are the relics of thepolicy of appeasement and the policy topreserve this regime. This is a policy thathas to change. The Iranian people, who possess anorganized movement, will defeat the beastof tyranny, terrorism, and fundamentalism,

and they will restore freedom and popular

rule. That day the people of Iran andthe world will be rid of the ominousphenomenon of Islamic fundamentalism;the day of establishing a republic in Iran, based on separaon of religion and state, gender equality, and a non-nuclear Iranwithout execuon and torture.Yes, the me to overthrow the regimeis here. The Iranian people and theirliberaon army have risen up to makethat into a reality. The internaonalcommunity must realign itself with thewill of the Iranian people.

We are in a point where forces in the region have begun to movebeyond the control of governments to inuence. I am very muchworried that if we dont cease the opportunity provided by thedelisng of MEK to accomplish the objecve of regime change inIran the moment may passes by because the imperave to have aneecve opposion is on us right now.

Let me just say that the most urgent issue is to deal with Ashraf andLiberty. The performance of the UN over these past few years andconnuing today remains uerly unacceptable. The UN has done itself a grave damage by allowing Marn Koblerto supplant the work of UN High Commissioner for Refugees; this isdamage to the High Commissioner. That is why I think the SecretaryGeneral who oversees the enre UN system needs to take this in hishand and the sooner the beer. This of course raises the crical queson of the Iranian nuclearweapons program which every day gets closer to the mullahs 21-yearobjecve of deliverable nuclear weapons. Here there is a parcularresponsibility for the US and Europe not to give the government inTehran a legimate agreement that allows them to connue thisnuclear threat.

Ladies and gentlemen, this deal would be a disaster for Iran, for theMiddle East, and for the world. There is eecvely no reason to giveIran any legimacy to enrich uranium to any level. The regime is pursuing nuclear weapons. It is already violated itssolemn obligaons under the non-proliferaon treaty. This regimecannot be trusted with a nuclear program. If we allow them to enrichto any levels, you will nd that they are violang the condions of thatagreement in ways we cant possibly detect no maer what they sayabout addional IAEA inspectors. In the next few months as we see the Middle East in turmoil, it wouldbe crical to explain that the only way you could trust Iran with apeaceful nuclear program of any kind is to change the regime inTehran and get a regime that reects the will of Iranian people.

Patrick KennedyMember of U.S. House of

    Representaves (1995-2011)

I have the honor of beingwith you, to celebrate what

many thought was going to be

impossible. And that was to get

    the U.S. Department of States

to reverse its posion on lisng

of the FTO and to delist the

MEK. So we are here today to

celebrate that. Why? Because, the MEK represents the most

organized, polical, nancial organizaon that is opposed

through democrac means to the ruling Mullahs in Tehran.

Now that the label is over, its me for Iraq and the United

Naons to nally recognize the people of Ashraf and Liberty

as human beings. And I want to join my colleagues in pleading

with the Secretary General of the United Naons to remove

Marn Kobler as the Ambassador in charge of Liberty and

Ashraf. Marn Kobler has been complicit in the harassment

and persecuon and terrorizing the people of Ashraf and

Liberty, and he connues to this day. In fact, just yesterday

there was over 30 communicaons between Marn Kobler

and the person trying to resolve the selement of the personal

property of the people in Ashraf. Imagine a member of the

United Naons geng in the middle of a business transacon

between the people of Ashraf and a business agent whos

trying to resolve this selement of their personal assets and

only to be obstructed by the U.N.

Marn Kobler you must step down as the U.N. commissioner.

I will conclude by saying you have here from the United States

and from around the world, people who represent all polical

pares. Just on this podium, you have Republicans, very hard-

core Republicans, and you have hard-core Democrats. But, we

are part of the same campaign believe it or not because we

share the same polical plaorm. Its the same plaorm that

unites us as Americans; its the same polical plaorm that

unites us with all our friends from around the world. Its the

plaorm of Maryam Rajavi and the MEK, and that is the plaorm

of democracy: no war, separaon of church and state, womens

rights, and rule of law. And so this is a polical campaign that

is stronger because of the ght for the delisng. And this is a

polical campaign that has all the necessary aributes to really

    bring change about in Iran.

    Allen Gerson

Former Chief Counsel of U.S. Delegaon to United Naons

I would like to describe what we achieved in this victory and what it portends. It is, I suggest, about humanity. Humanity versus polical expediency humanity is the face of humandignity. Humanity is the face of democracy. Humanity speaks of pluralism. Humanity speaks of liberty. So the most important things are:1. You are now entled to raise as much money as you want because money and nances are the oxygen ofany organizaon and before that anyone giving a nickel faced as much as 15 years in jail;2. You are entled as a maer of law to have immediate reselement as refuges. This is an entlementunder internaonal law. It is also an entlement to be reseled in foreign countries;3. Fourth, you hare entled to travel to the United States and elsewhere to raise the public consciousness;4. And nally, you are now in a posion where you can shape, as legimate actors, the future of Iran. Andas Madam Rajavi pointed out, the rst tangible consequence of the delisng in Iran, is the revitalizaon of

    the moral of our youth.

    Mitchell Reiss

    Director of Policy Planning at

    the U.S. Department of State

    (2003-2005)

First of all I must congratulateMadam Rajavi, all of you in this

hall and everyone who is watchingaround the world, who have worked

so hard and so long to persuade the

    State Department to remove MEK

    from the Foreign Terrorist List.

You were told that the State

Department would never change its mind and that the cause is

hopeless. Well, you never lost hope. You were not inmidated, you were not discouraged, and you certainly were not silenced,

and because of your paence and persistence jusce prevailed.

    Congratulaons!

Madam Rajavi, when I told my daughter I was coming over to see you

she asked me to send her congratulaons and best wishes. So you

see, you are not just inspiring all of us here in this hall this evening. You are inspiring a young generaon of Americans who are learning

for the rst me of your courage and your commitment to freedom

and democracy. And I know that all of them are so eager to welcome

    you to the United States.

The long term challenge is replacing the current regime in Tehran

with one that respects the human rights and dignity of the Iranian

people. How can we do this? Dierent American administraons have

encouraged the Iranian regime to change its behavior. Somemes

by proposing mullateral talks. Somemes by bilateral talks. And

somemes even by wring personal leers to the rulers of Tehran.

As we know all of these aempts have failed.

Some had suggested another way forward. This path involves

having the United States support the people of Iran and the IranianResistance as the vanguard to bring about fundamental change to

Iran. Only with a fundamental change in the nature of the regime

can we prevent a war between the US and Iran and prevent Iran from

    acquiring nuclear weapons.

The MEK is the driving force for this change because it paently and

relentlessly works for regime change in Iran. It is the only organizedopposion. It is part of a larger coalion with other organizaons and

individuals and representaves of religious and naonal minories.

It has a network inside Iran and it has produced a progressive,

humanisc and democrac plaorm for the future.

There is another immediate challenge that we can tackle right away

and that is to insure that your friends and relaves sll at campsAshraf and Liberty are protected.

This means that the U.S. needs to use its leverage with Iraq to

ensure that the residents of Liberty have rm guaranes for theirsafety and security. Any harm to the residents of camp Liberty would

tarnish and dishonor Americas reputaon. It would also tarnish and

dishonor the UNs reputaon. We need to convince the UNHCR to

recognize camp Liberty as a refugee camp, which will help ensurethat the residents can be safe.

    Raymond TanterFormer member of U.S.

    Naonal Security Council

Even before the dissidents had become the rage of this age,

the Iran Policy Commiee was studying dissidents.

A couple of conclusions emerged from one of our books called

appeasing the Ayatollahs and suppressing democracy.

One of our conclusions was that an Iranian dissident

organizaon would survive only if they are resilient, have

popular support, and are able to withstand all of the dicules

that come from a hosle regime.

Those organizaons that could not withstand the pressures

from the regime faded away into the world history.

Secondly, opposion groups that are able to survive were

those that put together a grand coalion and the Naonal

Council of Resistance of Iran is already a coalion.

One of our main conclusions was that the Iranian regime

pays aenon to the Mojahedin 350% more than all other

opposion groups combined during 2005. If the regime pays

aenon then so we should pay aenon to Mojahedin. In

addion, the regime hated Mojahedin. As the regime hates

    Mojahedin, we should love Mojahedin.

Mr. Massoud Rajavi said in 2002 that we suggest the

composion of Naonal Solidarity Front based upon three

principles: Overthrow the rule of clerics, the idea ofvelayat-e

faqih which does not have any bases in Shiite history or

Moslem history and is the basis for the rule of clerics in Iran.

Secondly there should be a government based on separaon

of religion and state and a non-Islamist government, and

thirdly commitment to an independent Republic. They were

very moderate suggeson by Mr. Rajavi.

I think we should know those at Ashraf and Liberty that we

are aware of Iraqi law. Iraqi law says that if you have lived in a

place for over 15 years and it is uncontested, in an uncontested

way no one has challenged your contractual relaonship with

that place, this is part of your possession. So, not only the

moveable assets should be a part of the residents propertybut the xed assets are their property too.

Congressman Kennedy said about we are all Iranian, I would

like to say Mitavan va Bayad, [We can and we must!]

    Connued from page 2

and the sacrices belong to the young and theold, to the workers and the soldiers of Iran, today we are here not to simply celebrate avictory but to let you know you are not alone. You will hear today from those who believe in

you, Americans and Europeans, Democrats,Republicans, liberals, and conservaves. We

are waing and watching and hoping andpraying for your success.Let me say clearly to the government of Iraq. You underesmated our will with the FTO. Youunderesmate us again. You will not steal ourproperty; you will not take our possession; we

will not forget; we will not go away; we willget fair jusce for this property.

We have come from dierent places but weshare a common ambion that the great andancient people of Persia would share whatmost of the people in the rest of the worldin the 20th century received a long me ago, simple human dignity and freedom. Never

give in, never compromise, never surrender, never quit, win at all cost, and win this ght.

This is the victory of jusce; victory of jusceand the law. And naturally, this is a historicalvictory for the Iranian Resistance. I wouldlike to take a moment to express gratude

and greengs to all the people that madethis victory possible. First of all, the Iranians, those who are the embodiment of the IranianResistance. And we, once again, witnessedthat the Mojahedins leaders demonstrated avery high level of responsibility through takinghard and painful decisions.Since many years ago, I have always heardMadam Rajavi saying that the soluon tothis problem is neither military acon norappeasement, and that there was only onesoluon which she referred to as the thirdopon, meaning that allow the people tofree themselves. Do not create obstacles onthe path of its main forces so that they rid

themselves of an indescribable government. Our work, our support, and our presencealongside Mojahedin and Iranian Resistancewill only be complete when a democracgovernment is in place in Iran. And again, this should be told to the U.S. governmentwho pretends to be concerned about an Iranequipped with nuclear bomb and tries toprevent it from achieving this: The only wayto be relieved from this danger is to makesure that a democrac government is in placein Tehran which the rst thing that it will dowould be to stop spending a penny on thisnuclear adventure, because the Iranian peoplehave been deprived for many years, and there

are priories above a nuclear program, even acivilian nuclear program.

For personal and polical reasons I had to be

here, because here I represent the Commiee

of French Parliamentarians for a Democrac

    Iran.

Inially, we started this eort in the name of

respect for internaonal rights, since we knew

that this designaon in Europe and the U.S. is

always used as the last word for arguing and

making an excuse by the western countries

for maintaining an elusive posion towards

the Iranian government and specially towards

the Iranian Resistance; a stance vis--vis the

Iranian regime which was partly smeared

with appeasement. And as we all know, there

is a thin line between appeasement and

    complicity.

Today, with hard work by all democrats and

with the help of the American, European,

and French courts, the obstacle has been

removed. This is an important stage. I think,

today, our duty is to mobilize ever more. In

France, we know who these men and women

are who have been ghng against the

mullahs regime since 30 years ago.

I want to indicate here and tesfy once again

    that the Iranian Resistance concentrated

around Mojahedin and the Naonal Council of

Resistance of Iran, is a democrac resistance:

a resistance that is ghng for a free Iran, for

an Iran which is truly secular, as a guarantee

for the Iranian people and for the enre world

aer an era of religious dictatorship.

It is a great victory of having obtained thedelisng of the MEK. All these years ghngfor the delisng gave us something that wehave to cherish which is the knowledge of our

adversary of our enemy. We know whom wehave in front of us. We know who they are.We know that they lie, we know that they areextremists, we know that they do not haveany kind of boundaries in order to achievetheir goals. We are mobilized to defend our brothers andsisters at camps Ashraf and Liberty, and wehave received an extraordinary reward. That isregaining Iranian Resistances voice, identy, and respect. That means today in the world,we have a face, a voice, and a focal point inthe person of Madam Maryam Rajavi. Andthis is our most beauful victory with yourincredible capacity to manage very crical

situaons, because there were moments ofdeep crises where we knew that any decisionthat was going to be taken could be countedin human lives; we knew that.So there is in the back of all this situaon, thevictory, an incredible victory of having MadamRajavi now being able to talk on behalf of all ofyou and being heard and being able to opendoors all around the world in order to defendsomething that is as big as our commitment toCamp Liberty which is Liberty for all Iranians, that is what we are ghng for. When we are supporng Madam MaryamRajavi, we are supporng peace in the world.Today, the rst enemy, the enemy number

one to the world peace, has to be located inTehran.

    Madam Rajavi! Disnguished Guests! Friends

and most importantly the protected personsat Camp Liberty and those remaining at Camp

    Ashraf!

I read something on the internet the other

    day, the French government acknowledged

the resistance in Syria. Awesome! I think its

about me the French government and my

own government, the United States of America

recognizes the NCRI as the main opposion

    group against the mullahs regime

Mr. Kobler! I hope you are watching, because

you have shown your colors to this soldier

and everyone else who has seen what you are

doing there. You have been no help to anyone

other than the mullahs regime. My wife and

daughter, right here, they could take your place

tomorrow and they would actually do the job.

And they would see to it that the residents are

allowed to sell their property and would be

treated justly. They would not turn a blind eye

like you, to the thievery and atrocies being

inicted under your name. Maybe you are

just afraid. Well I can assure you my wife and

daughter are not afraid. Nor are the over 3000

residents at Camp Liberty and Camp Ashraf.

    They are not afraid.

The mullahs regime even with your help,

Mr. Kobler, will never break the spirit of the

    resistance.

Its obvious the mullahs believe Camp Ashraf

will be no more. O how wrong they are. I know

the residents of Camp Ashraf and Camp Liberty.

I have had boots on the ground there and it

took me years to understand, Camp Ashraf is

not a place. It is a belief and a spirit within all

    freedom loving people.

And you can disnguish the ame of hope

merely by bulldozing a place to the ground and

imprisoning its inhabitants. Camp Ashraf will live

on regardless of the destrucon; humiliaon

and terror imposed on the residents, but the

mullahs dont understand and dont know thehistory.

Promises should be maintained by the

Iraqi government and the United States. The residents of Ashraf signed a cease re

agreement with the United States. Theysurrendered their weapons to the United

States and they accepted protected persons

status from the United States. We too as a

naon must honor our promises. Unl we go

back and fulll those promises, we should all

stand rm against the violaons of honor,

the disregard of humanity and the failureto respect the liberes of the residents of

    Ashraf and Liberty.

Just as the US must honor those agreements

so must the United Naons. To date, the

United Naons has handled the situaon atAshraf and Liberty no beer than the UnitedNaons handled the situaon in Rwanda.

To Ambassador Kobler, I state: blessing

every inhumane act by Maliki government

is wrong. Presenng Liberty as a humane

environment while covering up the true

condions is despicable. Sing idle while

agreements are ignored is unforgivable. The soluon, the long term soluon for the

future: Liberty must be declared a refugee

    camp by the United Naons.

We need to recognize the MEK as a viable

alternave and let me make one thing clear

and I said it before and I realized it to be

true. The MEK and Mrs. Rajavi are not aerpower in Iran. They and Mrs. Rajavi are aer

    democracy in Iran.

That is why the regime fears the MEK. State

Department needs to stop the demonizing

campaign; it is based on lies and only

supports the fundamentalist government. To my brothers and sisters at Ashraf and

Liberty: You are the tesmonial to democracy

and humanity. Despite all you have been

through, not one person has defected or

turned traitor. You are the real heroes in this

ght. We stand together today, we stoodtogether on the elds of bale yesterday

and years ago, and we will remain togetheralways. My brothers and sisters I salute you!

With this delisng the regime in Iran

has been put on noce and is onestep closer to falling. Freedom is at

our doorsteps. The people of Iran will

be seeing a new day where fear of the

government will no longer be part of

    their daily lives.

But my friends our struggles are far

from over. We have our friends and

family in Iraq. They are now being held

in the prison camp Liberty and in Ashraf.

Our friends and family are under great

pressure by the Iranian agents, Iraqi

police and army. They connue to be

denied the basic human rights andneeds.

How do they maintain their spirit and

will, to go on? The answer is you, in

this audience, friends and family, but

more importantly it is your beacon

of freedom, it is Maryam Rajavi in

    her inexhausble eorts to maintain

pressure on the Iraqis in the world, to

seek a soluon for her people.

Our combined eort now is to ensure

the US and the UN keep the pressure

on Iraq to protect the people in Liberty

and Ashraf. They must have the abilityto sell their property to nance their

lives as they exist in Iraq.

All my brothers and sisters in Liberty

and Ashraf must be given refugee

    status.

We must connue to pressure the

Iraqis in the UN to resolve these terrible

situaons. My dream is to one day in

the near future share bread with my

brothers and sisters from Ashraf and

    Liberty.

May God bless the MEK and Ashraf

and Liberty, May they nd peace and

freedom, and May Iran soon be free.

The order issued for delisng of the PMOI is a victory, a full-edged victory, because this decision was made by the United Statesduring the pre-elecon atmosphere and that was a sensive polical situaon. Also the decision made is a decision that hurtsthe mullahs regime. Given the military and polical presence of the U.S. in Iraq, it raises the queson that what did necessitateadopng this policy? My answer is: This is a new polical school whose architect is the Madam President, Maryam Rajavi and hercolleagues and all the members of this organizaon. A new polical path which is primarily based on the following:1. paence;2. hard work;3. sacrice, sincerity, and selessness;4. love for team work;5. connued struggle for materializing any goal, despite being apparently impossible; and

    6. taking iniaves and praccal acons, not waing and looking for rewards.

We feel honored and proud by our presence here alongside our sisters and brothers who love freedom and struggle toward it, andabove all of them, there exists a will and courage, similar to which, I have never seen in my life, and that is embodied in this greathuman being, Madam President Maryam Rajavi. Had it not been for her will power, and had it not been for the sincerity of the

men who are around her, this victory would not have materialized. This is the rst step for realizaon of other achievements towards gaining freedom and dignity. There is no doubt that theysuered, they struggled, and they were paent, but they materialized this victory through sacrice. O Mojahedin, all the suering, injusce, suppression, and exile that you endured did not prevent you from declaring your solidarity with your mourning sistersand brothers in the wounded Syria! And your support for our peoples revoluon in Syria is an indicaon of your wisdom and foresight in analyzing the situaon, because the downfall of Assads regime, the criminal and corrupt regime in Syria, is the abaoir and the beginning of the end ofthe mullahs regime in Iran; a regime that spreads corrupon, insgates turmoil and exports that and terrorism and the ideology ofterrorism to the enre region. They help Assads regime to the utmost, because they are certain that the overthrow of the Syrianregime is indeed the death toll of their regime and the beginning of their end.Yes, we must unite, because there are many factors that link us together: common suering, pain, suppression, and exterminaons.
