Installing the safety systemPlease note for installation:
Caution! Electrostatic discharge candamage components on the safetysystem. Ensure against dischargebefore touching the safety system,e.g. by touching an earthed,conductive surface or by wearing anearthed armband.
• The safety system should be installed in acontrol cabinet with a protection type of atleast IP54.Fit the safety system to a horizontal DINrail. The venting slots must point up anddown. Other mounting positions coulddamage the safety system (see Fig. 2).

• Si aucun module bus de terrain n’estmonté, aucune fiche de terminaison nedoit être branchée sur la broche libre del’appareil de base.
Connect the base module and expansionmodules (only PNOZ m1p, PNOZ m1pcoated version)The modules are linked via jumpers. A max.of 12 expansion modules and one fieldbusmodule may be connected to a base module.There are 2 pin connectors on the rear of thePNOZ m1p base module. • Ensure that no terminator is connected
(see Fig. 3). • Connect the base module, the expansion
modules and the fieldbus module using thejumpers supplied (see Fig. 4).
• The terminator must be fitted to the lastexpansion module.
• If a fieldbus module is not installed, aterminator must not be connected to thefree pin connector on the base module.

• Use the notches on the back of the safetysystem to attach it to a DIN rail. Connectthe safety system to the DIN rail in anupright position so that the earthingsprings on the safety system are pressedon to the DIN rail.
• To comply with EMC requirements, theDIN rail must have a low-impedanceconnection to the control cabinet housing.

• Das Sicherheitssystem und die Eingangs-kreise müssen immer aus einem Netzteilversorgt werden. Das Netzteil muss denVorschriften für Kleinspannungen mitsicherer Trennung (SELV, PELV) ent-sprechen.
• Für die Versorgungsanschlüsse 24 V und0 V (Halbleiterausgänge) sowie A1 und A2(Netzteil) sind jeweils 2 Anschluss-klemmen vorhanden. Damit kann dieVersorgungsspannung auf mehrereAnschlüsse geschleift werden. Der Stromdarf max. 3 A an jeder Klemme betragen.
• Verwenden Sie die Taktausgängeausschließlich zum Testen der Eingängeoder der Schaltmatten. Die Ansteuerungvon Lasten ist unzulässig.Verlegen Sie Taktleitungen nicht zusam-men mit Aktorleitungen in einer unge-schützten Mantelleitung.
• Verwenden Sie Leitungsmaterial ausKupferdraht mit einer Temperaturbe-ständigkeit von 60/75 °C.

• Power for the safety system and inputcircuits must always be provided from asingle power supply. The power supplymust conform to the protective extra lowvoltage regulations (SELV, PELV) withsafe isolation.
• Two connection terminals are available foreach of the supply connections 24 V and0 V (semiconductor outputs), plus A1 andA2 (power supply). This means that thesupply voltage can be looped throughseveral connections. The current at eachterminal may not exceed 3 A.
• Test pulse outputs must be exclusivelyused to test the inputs or safety mats.Driving loads is not not permitted.Do not route the test pulse lines togetherwith actuator cables within an unprotectedmulticore cable.

If the data are transferred using the chipcard, the configuration data previouslytransferred to the PNOZmulti safetysystem must be deleted:- Switch off the supply voltage.- Disconnect all output terminals.- Jumper OA0-I19 on the base module.- Connect the supply voltage.When the "DIAG" LED on the base moduleflashes, the memory has been cleared.The project data now can be transferred:- Switch off the supply voltage.- Remove the old chip card from the chip
