I used to duck hunt a lot…Imean a crazy lot. Never really gotinto goose hunting, but saw a lot
of geese during my duck hunting. One thing I noticed is that geese alwaysfly in a V formation. I’m sure you have noticed that as well. I also noticedthat one leg of the V would be longer than the other…posing the question,“Why?” I’m sure that some California University has received a multi-million dollar government grant to study that question. Looking at dis-tance traveled, wind factor, bird size, and a multitude of useless data, toarise at their guess…I mean conclusion. I think if I was a goose, I’d wantto fly behind the last goose I saw take a crunch lol. Wouldn’t want to flythrough that debris. Haha. But…ya know the simple truth…one leg of theV is longer because there are more birds in it lol. Don’t make it harderthan it has to be. It’s that simple. Our quest for knowledge makes us crazy.It’s a lot like that with Jesus.
Jesus said, “Unless you be converted as a child….” Childlike faith willunleash the power of God in a person’s life far more than a quest for un-derstanding of how it all works. We make it so difficult, because we refuseto just accept what Jesus says. We want to figure it out instead of simplywalk in it. He wants us to simply walk in it instead of trying to figure it
out. As we walk with Him, He becomes clear. As we try to figure Himout, He becomes more of a mystery.
We can’t figure out how His death on a cross gives us forgiveness. Wecan’t figure out how His walking out of a tomb gives us victory. We can’tfigure out how He can impart to us His very righteousness. But, we canwalk in all of this by faith. By our quest to understand it all…we are ableto walk in none of it. Paul put it beautifully….
“But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his crafti-ness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is inChrist.” 2 Corinthians 11:3
Don’t make it harder than it has to be. Jesus died on a cross for yoursin…paying your debt in full. He rose from the grave, offering you eternallife in Him, and His righteousness. And He says to you, in the things oflife, the need for forgiveness, peace, strength, direction, freedom,________...what’s your need? “Come to Me…..”
Will you? Today? If not, when? How long will you allow your burdensto hold you? When you surrender them to Jesus, they become His and Hispeace becomes yours. Don’t try to figure it out. Be simple…stand in awe!
