Don’t miss our exciting Focus on America season! Each concert will begin with a song for soloist and orchestra

from the Great American Songbook. You will hear a familiar wonderful song by American songwriters like

Cole Porter, George Gershwin, Irving Berlin, and others. Each concert will also feature at least one work by an

American composer. And we will continue our last season’s Spotlight on Women Composers theme by

performing outstanding works by women composers at several concerts. Finally, you will hear some “traditional”

classical music. WMP will perform works by Faure, Stravinsky, Rachmaninoff, Richard Strauss, Elgar, and

Beethoven. We’re delighted to have outstanding artists Tom Pandolfi, the Washington Saxophone Quartet, Molly

Jones, Tim Kidder, Karl Hovey, John Sutherland Earle, Charles Williams, and Marlisa Woods performing

with the orchestra.

As always, I have carefully selected the works WMP will perform because they are exceptionally fine, well

composed music that moved and interested me and should be performed. I know you will enjoy experiencing

their beauty as I do.

Don’t miss this amazing season of music. Expand your musical horizons and support us by buying your season flex pass tickets now. As always, youth 18 and under are free, and the WMP Season Flex Pass is the best value in

the region for tickets.
