Design Activities
Our team management was loosely organized. Everyone was a team leader and we all shared an equal share of the load based on our own talents. We very quickly discovered who was good at what an divided the work accordingly.
This made for an efficient and pleasant work experience.
Project Management
Final Customer Needs List
The team of first year engineers was given the task of redesigning the electric toothbrush to better suit the needs of consumers. The goal of this project is to contrive a smaller, cost effective device with a longer lasting battery, pleasant appearance and minimal noise.
Final Problem Statement
The team carried out an external search which included a detailed literature review ,a patent search and a benchmarking table .
The information gathered through the search gave us a reference point for a toothbrush of our own.
External Search
Literature review conducted gave us an understanding of the present models of electronic toothbrushes and helped us incorporate the following features
Rotating brush head Slightly bent neck Slimmer battery profile Better ergonomic and aesthetic design The benchmarking table provided our team with
further information of their performance levels and market success rates and design shortcomings of the leading producers of electronic toothbrushes
