Pocket Size Tissue Box and Pop Up Card:

The finished box is 3” x 3” x 1 ½” (5.5cm x 11cm x 2.5cm).

The finished card is 4 1/8 × 5 7/8 (10.5cm x 14.8cm – UK A6)

How much would you love to receive this gorgeous little gift and card when you’ve got a nasty cold or

when you’re feeling a bit blue? I would be simply delighted!

I’ve used multiple stamp sets in this project. The main set being Bella & Friends.

Pretty Kitty is another one I would use for this. The cute little critters are so perfect for cheering up a

body.

So, dig in to your current craft stash to make your own version of this or check out the products I’ve

*Please ensure to read instruction fully before commencing.

Instruction Pocket Size Tissue Box

• Trim cardstock to 18cm x 17cm.

• With Long Side Up (18cm side) – score at 1cm, 3.5cm, 14.5cm and 17cm

• With Short Side Up (17cm side) – score at 1cm, 3.5cm, 9cm and 11.5cm

• Cut away as per shaded areas. Die cut as per shaded oval.

• Cut in the flap ends as per blue shading.

• Box can now be assembled and decorated.

Decorate Pocket Size Tissue Box

Place the Whisper White Mat 10.5cm x 5cm and die cut the oval from this at same time as you die

cut the oval from the box top to ensure exact positioning of both oval aperture.

DSP for sides 10.5cm x 2cm (2 of) and 5cm x 2cm (2 of)

Note that in my photo I’ve placed the panels just to illustrate that the DSP is double sided. When I

actually adhered the DSP in to place I stuck the striped to the long sides and the flowers to the short

sides.

Instructions for Pop Up Card – Card Base

Trim your DSP so that it measures 13.3cm x 6cm and 13.3cm x 3cm. As it’s double sided you can then

get two patterns of paper for your card front.

On to your cardbase, mat the Whisper White cardstock, then the 2 pieces of DSP. Cover the join in

the paper with the Whisper White strip.

Stamp and decorate as desired. I stamped the little dog

on to scrap Whisper White cardstock and fussy cut

before adhering. Then punched some little flowers.

Instructions for Pop Up Card – Pop Up

Pop Up piece is 7.5cm x 14.5cm.

With Long Side Up, score and fold at

2.5cm, 6.5cm, 9cm and 13cm.

Die cut the oval as illustrated.

If decorating the top of the ‘box’ then layer the pieces and die cut

in position. I used temporary adhesive tape to tape the pieces in to

position before die cutting on the Big Shot.

Once this is done, adhere with permanent adhesive like

Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Fold and adhere the box in to shape as below.

You will also need to add another little strip of DSP 7cm x 2cm

Using Watercolour Pencil and Blender Pen add and blend layers of colour to the

balloon to get the desired depth of colour and effect. You could likewise add

shading to the little dog.

Please note, when using standard Whisper White cardstock for this you shouldn’t

overwork it with the Blender Pen as it causes the paper fibres to breakdown.

Watercolor Paper or Shimmery White Cardstock is the best for this process

however with a little care, Whisper White cardstock works fine.

Instruction for Assembly

Once your insert is stamped and adhered to card you can

adhere the pop up piece to the card.

It first sticks to the ‘upper’ by positioning it where you wish

it to be then closing the card over to stick it in place.

Then place a little adhesive on the bottom of the pop up

piece to stick it to the Whisper White insert.

Now that your pop up is in place, cut tissue to an appropriate length to fit in box and position to

allow a little to show out through the aperture.

How To Calculate Cardstock Measurement for Pocket Sized Tissue Box

• Using grid paper, mark out the four corners around the tissue pack, as per fig 1, allowing a tiny

bit of wriggle room. This will be the ‘back/bottom’ of the box.

• Move it on to its side and mark the four corners in this position, as per fig 2.

• Move it again as per fig 3 and mark four corners. This will be the ‘front/top’ of the box.

• And again, on to its side as per fig 4.

So, you’re basically ‘rolling’ it down the grid paper, marking the corner points each time.

• From the ‘front/top’ section, now mark in the ends to create the box opening/closure flaps, as

per figs 5 and 6.

• Mark in an extra 1cm to each opening/closure flaps and side closure and per fig 7.

This will give you your required cardstock size and scoring/cutting requirements.

• Die cut the oval from the ‘top’ section and cut away the remaining shaded area. Note that the

white area in fig 8 is a layer of Whisper White I’ve cut to decorate the top of the box.

• Now fold to the box shape and adhere the side closure to complete.

Making an Envelope
