for School Administrators (Current as of July 28, 2020)

• Engage & encourage everyone in the school & community to

practice preventive behaviors that support schools’ safe reopening

• Implement multiple SARS-CoV-2 mitigation strategies - social

distancing, cloth face coverings, hand hygiene, etc.

CDC COVID-19 Guidelines (Current as of July 23, 2020)

• Maintain social/physical distancing of 6 feet as much as possible

• Wash hands frequently with soap & water for at least 20

seconds

• Use a hand sanitizer when soap & water is not available

• Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed

hands

• Wear a face covering/mask

• Cover coughs & sneezes with a tissue when you cough or

sneeze or use the inside of your elbow

• Clean AND disinfect frequently touched surfaces daily

• Monitor health daily

• Stay home if you don’t feel well

• Limit the number of individuals in classrooms and other learning

spaces

• Establish home health symptom screening by parents prior to

students arriving at school or bus stops

• Bus drivers & passengers must wear face coverings while on the

bus, in accordance with DOH guidelines

• Promote social distancing at bus stops

• Load the bus by filling seats from back to front to limit students

walking past students to find a seat

• Limit number of children on bus

• PMSD’s Plan allows for mostly 1 child (no more than 2) per seat,

with some exceptions for family members living in the same

household

• Disinfect buses after each run & thoroughly clean/disinfect buses

daily

• Provide sanitizing options on the bus & promote use

bus/vehicle will be cleaned & sanitized (all handrails, tops of

student seats, window ledges, etc.)

• End of school day/after school activities: Thorough sanitation of

all buses/school vehicles

• Sanitization of buses: All cleaning, sanitizing & disinfecting will be

conducted using products that meet the CDC requirements for

COVID-19

• Meals served in cafeterias with students seated at least 6 feet apart

• Students will wear face coverings when walking to & from the

cafeteria as well as when getting their food

• Students & staff will be encouraged to wash hands or use hand

sanitizer before & after eating

• Students will eat in cohorts

• Cafeteria will serve individually plated meals/box lunches

• Touchless scanners will be used to scan student-issued barcodes

• Students will be directed not to share food or utensils

• Cafeteria will maintain an environment consistent with individual 504

plans for allergies, etc.

• Plans for “Meals to Go” on Wednesdays at predetermined sites

(CRIS, EHS, WHS)

• Meals will represent the 4 days students are not in school

• Students must wear a face covering inside the school, on bus &

while outside when physical distancing is not feasible

• Masks must meet the requirements of student dress code policy

(Spirit-wear masks are acceptable)

• Documented medical or mental health conditions or disabilities

may preclude some students from wearing of a face covering

• Schools will provide training for students on how to properly wear,

remove & replace a face covering

• Schools should provide face covering breaks throughout the day

while maintaining distancing of at least 6 feet

• Schools may allow students to remove face coverings when

students are:

o Eating or drinking when spaced at least 6 feet apart

o Seated at desks/assigned workspaces at least 6 feet apart

o Engaged in any activity at least 6 feet apart

o When wearing a face covering creates an unsafe condition

• Desks will be spaced apart to maintain the separation requirement

provide an additional break

• The schedule will follow 6-day rotation schedule: Week 1 (M, T, Th,

• WJHS: Approximately 175 students each day

• EJHS: Approximately 150 students each day

Building Entry Procedures:

• WJHS: Students will enter & exit the building through six

different entrances from upper & lower lots

• EJHS: Student dismissal from buses will be staggered to limit

the number of students entering doorways at once

Lockers:

• No lockers will be utilized.

Locker Rooms:

• No lockers will be utilized and students will not change for PE.

social distancing at sinks

to school until they have been isolated at home until at least 10 days

since the date of their first positive COVID-19 diagnostic test

Close contact with someone infected with COVID-19 (having been

within 6 feet for at least 15 minutes, while not wearing PPE, of

infected individual): Students/staff who have been determined to be a

close contact of someone infected with COVID-19 must quarantine at

home for 14 days AFTER the exposure to the close contact

Household member of someone infected with COVID-19 (residing

in the same home as an infected individual): Students/staff who

have been exposed to a confirmed case, must continue to quarantine

until 14 days after your exposure
