• Boring Pros• Requires several large pits but no long trenches• Less truck traffic hauling dirt in and out

whole street

• Northbound traffic routed on three-phase detour
• Southbound traffic routed on Edgewater – one lane maintained• Flaggers needed on some sections
• No on-street parking on detour route

• 136th east to Lakeside northeast to 317th north to 141st west
• 138th bypass - 136th east to 313th north to 138th west
• Phase 2• One-lane maintained with flaggers between 141st
and 145th
• Phase 3• 145th east to 321st north to 146th east to 324th north to
149th west to Edgewater south

Option #2 – One Lane With Flaggers• No detour• Like last phase of Edgewater work• One lane maintained around construction with
flaggers
Recommendations
• City recommends one-way bypass detour• Approved by TARTA and Fire Department
• Bus route re-confirmed with Tarta after last meeting – tested and approved.
Access for Safety Services
• Police and Fire will have direct communication with construction crews
Public Notification/Communications• Meetings with businesses and Police/Fire• Point Shoreland Journal – advertising with map
showing construction schedule and detours• Run 2 times before start of construction
• Signage placed on Edgewater warning of coming detours (2 weeks prior)
