ENROLLMENT REQUIREMENTSFor information regarding testing for acceleration, contact your attendance area school or the office of Advanced Academic Studies at 469-593-0749.

Immediately upon moving into the district, all students should register at their attendance area school by bringing:

Complete immunization records (date, month and year of every immunization received)

An official document to determine grade level (student’s last report card)

Social security card

Proof of residence (current utility bill or current lease agreement in the parent’s or guardian’s name)

Other records from previous schools.

RISD does not accept students living outside the district on a tuition basis.

Kindergarten students must be 5 years old by September 1 of the current school year, and either parent must be a district resident.

First-graders must be 6 years old by September 1 of the current year unless the child has completed public kindergarten in another state/country or has been receiving public first grade instruction in another state/country. Enrollees in RISD under the age of 11 must present a birth certificate and immunization record at registration.
