SHIP SAFETY ANNUAL INSPECTION REPORT
Ships subject to annual inspection may in addition be further inspected at anytime where reports reaching the Registry give rise for concern. The purpose of this report is to provide documentary evidence to the Registry that the ship is in compliance with all the international conventions to which Barbados is party. Deficiencies found by inspectors that shall not be rectified prior to sailing shall be informed to the Registry immediately by electronic means. Inspection reports are to be completed in triplicate by the Nautical Inspector on the occasion of each inspection. Each copy is to be signed by the Nautical Inspector and the Master (or authorised representative). The original is to be forwarded to the Principal Registrar with the remaining copies being retained by the Nautical Inspector and the Master.
THE PURPOSE OF THE ANNUAL INSPECTIONS IS TO ENSURE THAT THE BARBADOS SHIPS’ REGISTRY IS FULFILLING ITS RESPONSIBILITIES TO THE OWNER, SHIP AND CREW AND ITS OBLIGATIONS UNDER THE INTERNATIONAL CONVENTIONS TO WHICH BARBADOS IS A SIGNATORY AND THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE BARBADOS SHIPPING ACT 1994. AND THAT THE AUTHORISATIONS GIVEN TO CLASS FOR THE CARRYING OUT OF STATUTORY SURVEYS ARE BEING CONDUCTED PROPERLY.

REPORT SUMMARY Vessel current at Falmouth for maintenance period prior to taking up UK expedition programme. Upgrading of some passenger spaces carried out. New 3GHz radar fitted and commissioned. New AIS fitted. New Iridium Open Port communication system fitted. LRIT commissioned through SSAS system at Falmouth. Test report & Conformance Certificate to be provided on completion of test. Machinery Class Surveys carried out with DNV in attendance. Anchor cables calibrated and marked. Lifeboat and Liferaft davit wires changed end for end. In-water survey carried out. Fire drill carried out, satisfactory but some training issues identified and passed to Owners representatives on board. Boat muster only carried out, satisfactory, not possible to launch boat as shipyard working on davits. Ship Security Alert System tested 05-05-2009.
