Administration of Colombia.
For its administration, Colombian territory is divided in departments,
and at the same time these departments are divided in
municipalities.
The basic units of political administration of Colombia are the municipalities that are governed by a mayor and a city council, elected by popular vote.
Mayor
exerts political control in municipal
administration and study projects.
It is the highest governing authority in
a municipality.
City Council
The departments are administrated by a Governor
Governor Functions:
•The governor should direct and coordinate the administrative action of the department.
•should enforce the laws
The President.
The president of the republic is the head of
state, head of government and supreme
administrative authority of the country.
