Department Achievements

The Dept of Political Science organised RC in Human Rights in the month of July-

August 2015. The said Course was coordinated by Dr. SRTPS Raju.

The Department of Political science also organised a Refresher Course in Political

Science from 5-28 November 2015, and it was coordinated by Prof. Kadloor Savitri.

The Department of Political Science successfully organised the International Summer

School for the third year in a row from 30 June - 24 July 2015. The Indian Politics

component of the ISS for the year 2015 was coordinated by Prof. Kadloor Savitri.

Prof. Mohd. Badrul Alam and Prof. Kadloor Savitri have been selected for the

prestigious ICCR-Chair Professor to be on deputation to hold India Chair abroad.

State Department's Special Representative to Muslim Communities, Shaarik H.

Zafar, met with students and faculty of Jamia Millia Islamia at the Department of

Political Science on Nov. 16, 2015. Zafar is responsible for driving U.S.

Secretary of State John Kerry’s engagement with Muslim communities around

the world on issues of mutual interest, in support of shared goals, and to advance

U.S. foreign policy.

Interaction between CHSJ and MenEngage Delhi with Masters Human Rights

Programme, Political Science Department, JMI

On 20th of October 2015 CHSJ(Centre for Health and Social Justice) and MenEngage Delhi

coordinated by the Masters Human Rights Programme, Political Science Department, JMI

organised a half day event at Jamia Millia Islamia to interact with students on issues of

gender equality, human rights, patriarchy and masculinity.
