    Various systems designed to operate in a manner

    that effluents from single systems when mixed

    together at final disposal point meets the statutorylimits.

    Circulating water & ash water recirculation system

    are designed to operate with low or moderate COC tokeep TDS within limits in final effluent.

    TREATMENT FOR HIGH TSS WATER

    Water with high TSS is recycled/reused in othersystems e.g. filter backwash waste is recycled back tothe clarifier.

    Where reuse/recycle is not feasible, the treatmentfacility with setting ponds, tube settler/lamellaclarifier, centrifuge/filter press are being provided.

    Dried sludge cake is used for land-fill and clear wateris recycled/reused.

    TREATMENT FOR HIGH OIL CONTENT WATER

    Effluent is treated to remove oil using an oil separatorto keep the oil content of the effluent below thestatutory (10ppm) limit.

    Clear water is recycled or disposed off from the plant.

    EFFLUENTS HAVING HIGH TEMPERATURE

    The major effluent is the return water from thecondenser cooling systems in plants operating on oncethrough type circulating water system.

    In recirculating type system using cooling towers ,

    blow-down from the system is taken from the cold side

    thereby eliminating the need for reducing the

    temperature of the effluent prior to discharge.
