More About PVC:
1. PVC, is the world's third-most widely produced synthetic plastic
polymer, after polyethylene and polypropylene.
2. PVC comes in two basic forms: rigid (sometimes abbreviated as
RPVC) and flexible.
3. It can be made more flexible by the addition of plasticizers, the
most widely used being phthalates. In this form, it is also used in
many applications where it replaces rubber.
SUMMARY
What I’ve learned in my polymer chemistry research experience:
➤ The structure of different polymers and how they are polymerized.
➤ Using IR, FTIR and DSC to characterize samples.
➤ How polymers get cured by UV light.
➤ How polymers get recycled.
