INJURED GAS WORKERS: Did you know?
Natural gas is incredibly flammable.
Drivers who transport gas must be careful to not get into accidents, which can ignite natural gas. Burns can result from explosions.
In Pennsylvania alone, there are 7,788 active fracking wells.
Weather conditions and other drivers on the road lead can lead to accidents. If driving is part of a worker’s job duties, he/she may be covered under workers’ compensation and could have a third-party lawsuit.
Workers are susceptible to slips and falls from elevated machinery or supplies on the ground. Injuries such as broken bones, head trauma, and muscle strains/sprains are common.
Fracking and gas workers may be exposed to hazardous chemicals. Some of the ingredients used in fracking include: crystalline silica, benzene, diesel fuel, lead, naphthalene, sulfuric acid and formaldehyde.
Any physical job requiring lifting heavy objects, fixing equipment and digging for natural gas can cause chronic pain or injury over time. Typical injuries include back, hand, shoulder, knee and other joint injuries.
