Candidates seeking admission for the first year MBBS Course for Management Seats

offered by the colleges mentioned below for the Academic Year 2013-2014 should appear in the

COMMON ENTRANCE TEST (CETPPMC – 2013)

Qualification: A pass in Higher Secondary OR equivalent Examination with English, Biology, Physics &

Chemistry – 50% Marks in aggregate (40% for SC/OBC candidates)

Age: Candidates should have completed 17 (seventeen) years as on 31st December 2013.

Admission: Candidates desirous of appearing in CETPPMC 2013, apply directly to the

Convener, Pondicherry Linguistic & Religious Minority Medical and Dental Colleges Welfare Association,

Sri Venkateshwaraa Medical College Hospital and Research Centre Campus, Ariyur, Pondicherry 605 102.

The Application can be obtained from the Association Office at Ariyur and also from the above

mentioned colleges by post or in person. The cost of the application form : Rs.1000/- in person by cash or

Rs.1050/- by demand draft drawn in favour of PLRMMDCWA (Pondicherry Linguistic & Religious Minority

Medical and Dental Colleges Welfare Association), payable at Puducherry.

ADMISSION TO MANAGEMENT QUOTA FOR PROFESSIONAL COURSE IN UN-AIDED MEDICAL EDUCATIONAL

INSTITUTIONS IN PONDICHERRY STATE

GENERAL

In pursuance to the decisions of the Apex court in Islamic Academic Educational and Another Vs State of

Karnataka and other dated 14-08-2003, a Common Entrance Test is to be conducted by an Association of

Pondicherry Un-aided (self financing) Professional Colleges. Now the three Un-aided Private Medical

Colleges in Pondicherry State have formed an Association in the name of “Pondicherry Linguistic and

Religious Minority Medical & Dental Colleges Welfare Association” under Registration No.120 of 2004. The

Association has been granted permission to conduct Common Entrance Test in the name of “Common

Entrance Test for Pondicherry Private Medical Colleges” (CETPPMC) for the purpose to admit students in

MBBS course in the Private Medical Colleges under the Management Quota.

The application is meant for registering the candidate for Common Entrance Test (CETPPMC – 2013)

conducted by “Pondicherry Linguistic and Religious Minority Medical & Dental Colleges Welfare Association”

for the following member institution:

1. Pondicherry Institute of Medical Sciences 2. Sri Manakula Vinayagar Medical College & Hospital 3. Sri Venkateshwaraa Medical College Hospital & Research Centre

Eligibility for Admission

As per pre-requisite admission to the Management Quota to MBBS Degree Course, Candidates must have

appeared in CETPPMC – 2013. However, mere appearance in CETPPMC – 2013 will not automatically qualify

a candidate for admission to MBBS Degree Course. For admission to MBBS Degree Course, the candidate

should fulfill the necessary admission requirements prescribed by Government of Pondicherry for that

degree course.

Minimum Academic Qualification

Candidate for admission to the first year MBBS Degree Course should have passed the

H.Sc.(Academic) examination conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary Examination of Tamil Nadu or any

other equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks (40 % for SC/OBC) in the following

subjects:

Biology(Botany & Zoology)/Physics/Chemistry/Biotechnology

The Candidate should also have taken English as one of the Subject.

Improvement of Marks

Candidate may also seek admission with marks secured in the improvement examination (if it is

advantageous) provided it is the first improvement examination.

Age Limit

Candidates should be 17 years of age as on 31st December 2013. However, no upper age limit has

been prescribed.

Hall Ticket

After scrutinizing the completed application form, the Hall Ticket for CETPPMC – 2013, containing

the Name, Registration Number, Photograph and Entrance Test Center will be sent to the candidate by post.

The Hall Ticket must be produced at the time of Entrance Test. Without the Hall Ticket no candidate will be

permitted to write the test.

Duplicate Hall Ticket

If the Hall Ticket is not received by 26th June 2013, the candidate should contact Central Office

situated at “Sri Venkateshwaraa Medical College Hospital and Research Center, Ariyur, Puducherry or the

nearest test center where he/she has opted to write CETPPMC – 2013 with two passport size photographs

and proof of having applied for CETPPMC – 2013 to get the Duplicate Hall Ticket.

Rank List of “Common Entrance Test” (CETPPMC – 2013)

Rank List showing the mark scored by the candidate in the Common Entrance Test will be displayed

in the Notice Board of the Colleges soon after the Publication of result and also it will be “hosted in the

websites”.

Instructions and Guidelines to fill the Application Form

Candidates desirous of appearing for the Common Entrance Test (CETPPMC – 2013) conducted by

the Association should fill their application in the prescribed format and send directly by post.

Candidates either have to use the application form given along with the Information brochure by the

respective centers or downloaded application form from websites:

Candidates who use the downloaded application form have to pay Rs.1050/- (Rupees One thousand

and fifty only) as a Demand Draft separately towards the cost of the application along with the completed

application form. The Application and information booklet can also be obtained in person on payment of

Rs.1000/- (Rupees One thousand only) by cash from the Association Office and respective colleges or can be

obtained by post by sending a requisition along with the Demand Draft for Rs.1050/- (Rupees one thousand

and fifty only) inclusive of postal charges drawn in favour of “PLRMMDCWA (Pondicherry Linguistic and

Religious Minority Medical and Dental Colleges Welfare Association) payable at Pondicherry. After

processing, if found eligible, the Hall Ticket will be sent to the candidates by post.

The completed application form should reach the office on or before 05.00 p.m. on 22nd June 2013.

CETPPMC will not be responsible for postal or any other delay. incomplete/wrongly filled application will be

summarily rejected. The application received after the due date and time will also be summarily rejected

and no further correspondence in the matter will be entertained.

1. The students will have to take an Objective Type Test in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology.

2. The Candidate should send copy of the mark list of the qualifying examination within 10

days after the declaration of results by the concerned authority to claim admission in the

Management seats on the basis of the rank list.

Note: Admission made is provisional and are subject to approval of respective authorities as prescribed by

the Puducherry State Government. No further correspondence will be entertained on any matters

pertaining to the CETPPMC – 2013.

IMPORTANT NOTE

1. Hall Ticket is an important document without which you will not be permitted to take up the test. 2. Candidates presenting themselves 30 minutes after the commencement of the Examination shall not

admitted into the Examination Hall. 3. Candidates are requested to bring HB Pencil, Eraser, Ballpoint pen etc., 4. The issue of Hall Ticket is an enabling provision for taking up the Common Entrance Test (CETPPMC 2013)

under Management Quota and does not mean that the candidate satisfies all the requirements to be eligible for seeking admission to the respective course. The decision on the eligibility of the candidates for admission to the course entirely rests with CETPPMC authorities.

5. Possession of any incriminating material inside the hall or communicating / gesturing with any other students inside/outside of the hall will be viewed very seriously.
