S tarting winter with good news, first VSA is a working

team of JAVS or Japan Asean Voluntary Service 2015

which will be 3 member countries in Asean and Japan

funded by Japan Foundation. This project open call already for

1 each Asean countries and 5 Japanese. All participant will par-

ticipate in orientation meeting at Toyko, Japan then separate

to 5 project in 5 countries and go to evaluation meeting at Na-

korn Ratchasima, Thailand.

In addition VSA will host Asian Youth Leader Training together

with NVDA (Network Voluntary Development in Asia) between

16 - 20 April 2015 at the same place with JAVS activities. This

activities open for Thai participant and also Asian participant.

The open call will be issue soon.

Laure Moura, volunteer at Folklore Museum were making weir at

Klonghoikhong, Songkhla on 20 September.

This camp run on 8 - 20 September 2014 at Non Formal

Education office, Songkhla. 5 international volunteers

experienced organic way of agriculture and this is the

first time of Non formal Education office hosting inter-

national voluntary workcamp.

For me, this is first work camp, so eve-

rything impressed me. In 2 weeks, I

prepared soils, planted melons and

pumpkins. I like cooking and eating,

but I have never experienced agricul-

ture. Through this work camp, I real-

ized it’s so hard to raise vegetables. I

think it’s important to learn about the

difficulty of raising foods because we

can’t live without eating foods. I also

gave local students a lesson in Japa-

nese culture. Then, I had a nice time

because it seemed that they were in-

terested in Japanese culture, especial-

ly Origami.

In free time, I went to the beach, mu-

seums and night market. I enjoyed

them. I also ate many Thai foods. It

was tasty but sometimes so spicy!!

In this work camp, I met a lot of local

people. They are so kind and friendly.

Before I came to Thailand, I was full of

anxiety, but it was a waste of time. Af-

ter going back to Japan, I want to tell

my friends charms of Thailand. Some-

day, I want to come back to Thailand!
