Yourpoolisnowcomplete.Ourinteriorfinishcrewhascompletedthefinishapplicationofyourpoolandhasstartedthefillingofyourpool.

1. Wesuggestthatyouhaveyourhose/homewatertestedpriortopoolfillingtocheckit’schemistryBEFOREithasanopportunitytoeffectthenewinteriorfinishduringthefillingprocess.Thiscanbedoneatyourpoolserviceretailstore.Youshouldalsoconsultwithyourservicecompanyastoaddinganymineralorstainpreventionchemicalstothefillwater.

2. UNDERNOCIRCUMSTANCESshouldyoustopthewaterwhilethepoolisbeingfilled.Stoppingthefillwatercouldresultina“bathtubring”inthefreshinteriorfinish.Ifyouareworriedaboutyourhousewaterpressureorifyouhaveawellsystem,youshouldconsiderhavingwatertruckedin.Atyourrequest,yourprojectmanagercancoordinatewaterdeliveriesonyourbehalf.*

3. DONOTremoveormovethehosewhilethepoolisfilling.Itisimportantthatthehosewatercontinuetobedirectedintothe“pool”ofwaterandNOTdirectlyontothefreshfinish.Donotallowanyonetotouchthepoolfinishduringthefillingprocess.

4. Thepoolisfullwhenitreachesthemiddleoftheskimmer.Whenthewaterreachesthispoint,itistimetoshutoffthefillwaterandBEGINTHEBRUSHINGPERIOD.PleaserefertothefollowingpagesforBrushingPeriodInstructions.Whenyourpoolisfull,itisalsothetimetohaveyourpoolservicecompanyaddtheinitialchemicaltreatment&dothesystemstart-up.PLEASECONSULTwithyourTri-Staterecommendedservicecompanyforthisservice.

GeneralMaintenanceGuidelines

BrushingThebrushingofyourpoolinteriorisanimportantmaintenanceprocedurebecauseitwillhelp

circulatepoolwater(allpoolshavesomecirculation“dead”areas),helpkeepthefinishsmooth&debrisfreeaswellashelppreventmetals,minerals&scalefromadheringthesurface.Wesuggestbrushingthepoolsurfaceatleastonceaweekthruthelifeofthepool(exceptfor“InitialBrushing

Period”)SeeBrushingPeriodInstructions.

WaterTestingYoushouldtestthepoolwaterchemistryforproperlevels(seeSaturationIndexpreviouspage)

BEFOREeveraddinganychemicals.Duringtheinitialbrushing&start-upperiodyouwillneedtotestthewateronadailybasisuntilproperbalanceisachieved.Afterthatitisgoodpracticetotestyourpoolwaterweeklyduringthepoolseason.Areasofhighwaterhardness,evaporation,high

usage/batherload&otheruniquefactorsmayrequiremorefrequenttesting.Whenaddingchemi-calswesuggestpre-dilutingtheminabucketofwaterbeforeaddingthemtoyourpool.Certain

chemicalsaddeddirectlytothepoolwaterwithoutpre-dilutingcancausedamage/staining.

StainPreventionTheregularuseofstainpreventiontypechemicalscangreatlyreducethestainingeffectsofthe

dissolvedmineralsinyourpoolwater.Alwaysfollowmanufacturersdirectionsorconsultwithyourpoolservicecompanyforproperdosagesforyourpool.

FiltrationProperfiltrationandcirculationofyourpoolwaterisveryimportant.Yourpoolshouldbefiltereddailytoinsuretheremovalofdirtanddebrisaswellasprovidingadequatecirculationofwater/

chemicals.Neverallowforeignobjects,dirtordebristositundisturbedforlongperiodsoftimeasthiswillpromotediscolorationandstaining.

ImportantMaintenanceNote-Staining&scaleformationisNOTcoveredunderourwarranty.Itisimportanttokeepyourpoolcleanandwaterbalancedatalltimes.Stainsonthefinisharecommonlycausedbyscaleformation(feelslikesandpaper)andisduetounbalancedwaterchemistryorimproperbrushing(period).Pleasemakesurethatwhenyourpoolisclosedthatitisverycleanandwaterisinbalance.Properwinterchemicalsshouldbeaddedaspartofthewinterizingprocess.Ifyoudevelopstainsitisimportanttoremovethemasap.Stainingatthewinterizedwaterleveliscommonandusuallywilldissipatewiththeadditionofchemicalsafterpoolopening.

BrushingPeriodInstructions

1. BrushingoftheentireinteriorfinishisrequiredforallfinishesexceptPebbleTecorPebbleSheen.Brushingshouldstartimmediatelyoncethepoolisfull.Poolstartupshouldbeginatapproximatelythesametimebutbrushingcanbeginbeforestartupifthetimingworksoutthatway.

2. Brushingoftheentireinterior(walls,floor,steps,benches,etc...)isneededto“stirup”thecalciumpowderthatleachesfromthefinishduringthecuringperiod.CalciumleachesfrommostinteriorpoolfinishesnaturallyandneedstobefilteredoutbeforeitcansettleandadheretothepoolsurfaceBrushingmustbedonetwicedailyforaminimumoftwoweeksoruntilthecalciumdustdissipatesthroughbrushing&filtration.Startingatthetileline,pushyournylonpoolbrush/telepoleacrossthesurface,downthepoolwallandacrossthepoolfloor.Onepassisallthatisneeded.Youdonotneedtoscrubthefinish.Takecaretomakeonepassovertheentiresurfacetowardsthebottomdrains.

3. Youshouldbeverycarefulwhenvacuumingyourpoolduringthebrushingperiod.Hardvacuumwheelsandoveraggressivemovementscandamagedtheinteriorfinish.Ifyouneedtovacuum,useavacuumheadwithsoftwheelsoravinyllinerstyleheadwhichhasnowheels.Takeyourtimeandvacuumslowly.Youcanvacuum“towaste”whichwillhelpgetridofthecalciumdustquicklyandrequireslessfrequentfilterbackwashesbecausethedustisnotbeingdepositedinthefilter/grids.Ifyouvacuumtowaste,youwillmostlikelyneedtoaddfreshmakeupwatertothemiddleofthetileline.

4. DONOTturnonyourpoolheaterduringthebrushingperiodasthecalciumcandamagetheinternalsoftheheater.

5. Youmayuseyourautocleanersystemduringthebrushingperiodwithcaution.Makesurethecleanerunitdoesnothaveanyhardrunningsurfacesthatcoulddamagethefreshplaster.Onlyrunthecleaneraslongasisneedtocleananydebrisandnomorethanacoupleofhoursperday.PleasenotethatusingapoolcleanerDOESNOTtaketheplaceofbrushing.

6. Yourfiltersystemshouldalwaysbeoperated24hrs.adayduringthebrushingperiod.Onceyouarefinishedwiththebrushingperiodandyourwaterisinproperbalanceyoushouldoperatethefiltersystemlongenougheachdaytocirculateeverygallonofpoolwateratleastonce(calledturnover).Thisusuallyrequiresabout8hrsperday.

CongratulationsonyournewPebbleTec®orPebbleSheen®poolfinish.Pleasenoteaveryimportantfactorpertainingtotheproductwarranty.Thewaterchemistryinyourswimmingpooland/orspamustbemaintainedatcertainlevelstopreventscalebuild‐up,(awhitehazeonyourpoolfinish).Scaleremovalisnotcoveredbywarranty.Itisrecommendedtotestyourpoolwater

monthlyataretailpoolsupplystore(insomestorestestingiscomputerized).Evenifyouuseapoolservicecompany,itisstillrecommendedthatyouregularlycheckyourwaterchemistrybalancetobesureitisproperlymaintained.Themostcommonremovalofscaleisbydrainingyourpool,cleaningwithchemicalsandpressurewashing.Scaleremovalwillbedoneatyourownexpense.

• Themajorityofthebalancingbetweenthepoolwateranditsnewenvironment(theplaster)willnaturallytakeplaceduringthefirst30days.Thisisanaturalprocessandmustbeallowedto

Basedontemperatureandtypeoffinish,fillthepooltothemiddleoftheskimmerorspecifiedwaterleverwithoutinterruptionasrapidlyaspossiblewithcleanpotablewatertohelppreventabowlring.Placeacleanragontheendofthehose,alwaysplacedinthedeepestarea,topreventdamagetothesurfacematerial.Ifawatertruckisrequired,24inches(60cm)ofwatershouldbeplacedatthedeepestareaforawatercushion.3. EveryefforthasbeenmadebyourInteriorFinishCrewtoprovideyouwiththeabsolutebestpossiblepoolfinish.However,therearecertaincharacteristicsofinteriorpoolfinishesof

whichyoushouldbeaware.

1. Interiorfinishesarenotdesignedtobeslickor“tilelike”.Theyareassmoothashandtrowelingwillpermit.ExposedaggregateorPebblefinishesaredesignedtohaveatexture.Theyarenotsmoothtothetouch.Vigorousplayactivityandlongperiodsinthepoolmayresultabrasionstothefingersandtoes.

Thepoolinteriormaylookblotchyandorstreakedforanextendedperiodoftime.Thisisnormalandisgenerallycausedbythecuringprocessandthereactionofthechemicalsinthefill-ingwater.Severalmonthsmaygobybeforethefinishcurestoafairlyevenshade.Finishesthatcontainpigmentswillneverbeoneevenshadeandaresubjecttocontinuingmottling,unevencolor,streakingandfading.Pleaserefertothe“ColoredFinishesAgreement”sectionofyourpoolcontract.

5. ItisnormalforPebblefinishestohaveacertainamountofpebbleloss.Thiswillnoteffectthedurabilityofthefinish.

6. Keepinmindthatstainsaremostcommonlyduetowatercondition,weatherconditionsorwaterchemistry.Itisvitalthatyoutakemaximumcareandcautionconcerningthemaintenanceofyourpool.

7. Underwaterlightswillmagnifysmallobjectsandflawsinthefinishandmaygivetheinteriora“wavy”effect.Thisisnormalwithallhandtroweledsurfaces.

8. Youwillseeacertainamountofcrazing(tinycracksinthesurface).Thisisnormalandwillnoteffectthefinishdurability.

9. Allexposedaggregatefinisheswillhavevariationsinshade,colorandaggregateexposure.
