“Por los pecados de Manasés” “Because of the sins of Manasseh”

• Introducción. Siendo el rey, Manasés era responsable no sólo de sus hechos personales, sino también por haber hecho que la nación pecara. 2 Rey. 21:9; 2 Cr. 33:9

• Introduction. Being king, Manasseh was responsible not only for his personal deeds, but also for having made the nation sin. (2 Kings 21:9; 2 Chron. 33:9.


• I. Su padre era Ezequías, rey excelente. 2 Reyes 18:4-7, siguió a Dios, guardó sus mandamientos, limpió y abrió el templo, celebró la Pascua, destruyó ídolos.

• I. His father was Hezekiah, an excellent king. 2 Kings 18:4-7, followed God, kept His com-mandments, cleansed and opened the tem-ple, celebrated Passover, destroyed idols.


• Era, pues, ejemplo excelente para su hijo, pero Manasés no le hizo caso. No le siguió. Es una falta grave de muchos jóvenes.

• III. “Habló Jehová a Manasés y a su pueblo, (por medio de los profetas) mas ellos no escucharon”. 2 Reyes 21:10; 2 Crón. 33:10. Con esto el mal de Manasés aumentó.

• Así era la práctica del Señor a través de los años: siempre dio advertencias al pueblo de las consecuencias de su maldad. Gál. 6:7.

• Thus was the practice of the Lord through the years: He always gave warnings to the people about the consequences of their wickedness. Gal. 6:7.


• IV. Manasés no escapó, su pecado le alcanzó. 2 Crón. 33:11, le aprisionaron con grillos y lo llevaron a Babilonia.

• IV. Manasseh did not escape, his sin caught up with him. 2 Chron. 33:11, they bound him with chains and carried him to Babylon.


• V. ¿Puede un hombre como Manasés arre-pentirse? Sería fácil decir, “nunca”, pero 2 Crón. 33:12, humillado por sus angustias, oró a Dios. ¡Texto asombroso!

• V. Can a man like Manasseh repent? It would be easy to say, “never,” but 2 Chron. 33:12, humbled by his misery, he prayed to God. Amazing text!

• VI. ¿Podía Dios perdonar a un pecador de esa clase? Recuerde 2 Crón. 33:1-6, hechos abominables. Pero v. 13, “Dios oyó…”

• VI. Could God forgive such a sinner? Remember 2 Chron. 33:1-6, abominable acts. But v. 13, “God heard…”


• Dos pecados imperdonables: (1) Blasfemar contra Espíritu Santo, Mar. 3:29, 30; (2) no arrepentirse y confesar pecado, 1 Jn. 5:16.

• Two unpardonable sins: (1) Blaspheme against the Holy Spirit, Mark 3:29, 30; (2) not repent and confess sins, 1 Jn. 5:16.


• Jer. 18:4, “vasija de barro se echó a perder” pero Dios puede hacerla “otra vasija”. “Lo restauró a su reino”. 2 Crón. 33:13. Sublime gracia!

• Jer. 18:4, “vessel of clay marred,” but God can make it “another vessel.” “He restored him to his kingdom,” 2 Chron. 33:13. Amazing grace!


• VII. ¿Hubo fruto de arrepentimiento? Sí. 2 Crón. 33:15, “quitó los dioses, ídolos, etc y reparó el altar de Dios y sacrificó a Dios”.

• VII. Was there fruit of repentance? Yes. 2 Chron. 33:15, “he removed the gods, idols, etc., repaired the altar of God and sacrificed to God.”


• VIII. Pero no pudo deshacer el daño hecho. 2 Crón. 33:17, “pero el pueblo aún sacrificaba en los lugares altos”.

• Es mucho más fácil conducirles hacia el mal que sacarlos del mal… Y Judá fue llevado al cautiverio en Babilonia a causa de Manasés.

• Otro ejemplo: Saulo de Tarso. Sus segui-dores entre los judíos no sólo seguían persiguiendo a los cristianos, sino también a Pablo mismo.

• Another example: Saul of Tarsus. His followers among the Jews not only con-tinued persecuting Christians, but also Paul himself.


• Muchos casos de padres que dejan la iglesia y después regresan -- pero no pueden traer a sus hijos.

• Many cases of parents who leave the church and later return – but cannot bring their children with them.


• El pecado trae consecuencias y a veces son irremediables: dejar de tomar pero ya arruinó el hígado; dejar de fumar pero ya arruinó los pulmones.

• Sin brings consequences and at times they are irremediable: quit drinking but already destroyed the liver; quit smoking but already destroyed lungs.


• Cuántos hijos ya adultos que dicen, “Si yo pudiera borrar los dolores de corazón que he causado a mis padres…”

• How many grown children say, “If I could erase the heartaches I have caused my parents…”


• Este estudio tiene mil aplicaciones. La lección es sencilla: evitar el pecado porque las consecuencias son terribles. (Divorcio, segundas nupcias; división de la iglesia,etc)

• This study has a thousand applications. The lesson is simple: avoid sin because the consequences are terrible. (Divorce and remarriage; church division, etc.)


• Para evitar pecado, seguir el ejemplo de fieles padres y otros cristianos. Heb. 11 - héroes de la fe. ¡Imitarlos!

• To avoid sin, follow the example of faithful parents and other Christians. Heb. 11 - heros of faith. Imitate them!


• Otra lección: Dejar que la aflicción produzca el arrepentimiento (como hijo pródigo) y llevar fruto del arrepentimiento.

• Another lesson: Let affliction produce repentance (like prodigal son) and then bear fruit of repentance.


• Por último: recuerde que el remordimiento es pura tortura. ¡Oh si hubiera…! O ¡si no hubiera…! “Allí será el lloro y el crujir de dientes.”

• Finally: remember that remorse is pure torture. Oh if only…! Or if only I had not…! “There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”
